I do have fond memories of staying at Hotel Breakers, enjoying breakfast at The Coffee Shop and dinner in The Anchor Room.
But I understand the appeal of brands. As we become an ever more mobile society, being able to offer guests something they're familiar with -- Starbucks coffee, for example -- means more money in the corporate pockets.
As I was at the park this past weekend, we waked past the Breakers East pool, and I was able to vision the possible potential of this pool. It's in a great location and looks to be more "clean suited" for the hotel. As stated before, the rotunda pool was in a location where you could hear guests in that area late at night. What I'm really looking forward to is seeing what they do with the rotunda rooms on the 4th and 5th floors
The improvements are really amazing, based on the illustrations and video in the main lobby. Collectively these two years are going to greatly enhance the quality of the Breakers experience. With the beach parties and firworks this year CP reall embraced the beach in a way I've not seen in my 25 years of visiting. The overall polish I saw at the park, in-season changes to little details, on-the-fly thinking that was clearly happening, all made this year great for my kids and I. And we still have two months left to go.

Back in my day (70s), if the Boss invited you to dinner at The Anchor Room, you KNEW you done good! Glad to hear the Surf Lounge is being revived as well. Looking at the current pictures, I hardly recognize the place.
Where did the original Surf Lounge used to be located? From what I understand, the Anchor Room used to be where Tomo Hibachi now is.
The original Surf Lounge was where Beaches and Cream is.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I think the renovations look beautiful, but I'm sad to see the Rotunda pool go! I always thought it looked quite picturesque against the Beaches 'n' Cream backdrop.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but it seems some are reporting to have heard rumors that all 3 Breakers pools will be removed prior to next season? I wonder if this could part of a Soak City push / expansion.

That may make sense,They could include Soak City admission with Hotel Breakers room reservations. As it is at the other area hotel/waterparks.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
I'm excited for the renovations. I stayed in the Twin section this past July for one last hurrah before construction. I managed to get a peek into the model rooms randomly while walking by while the housekeepers were making up the rooms. These were two rooms not far from the lobby in the eastern section, and yes, they had blue doors. I love the style. My big question is how much will the cost? Anyone venture to guess what the cheapest room will be next season?
Getting rid of all three pools makes no sense, Soak City is not a pool that you can just go to by taking a short walk from your room. The indoor pool and east pool are staying, I think there may be some modifications or added amenities to the east pool however.

Every pool that goes away = one less chance for a swim up bar :(
Because we need another place for people to drink. :S
Very much so.

I really don't think we need to worry about anymore pool removals. The rotunda pool will be gone and I am sure Breakers East pool will stay. What kind of hotel doesn't have a pool?
I think they have enough "drinking locations." That isn't the same as having enough locations to get a can of beer and such however, which I can agree might be improved on. Matters little to me since I don't drink as a rule anyway. They do need to serve the adult set, but I don't think that is entirely about drinking. It is a delicate thing to manage for what remains a family park.
