Top Thrill Dragster: Originally supposed to be August 28, 2002 (exactly one week after track started showing up), but after gaining tons of free publicity they pushed it back to January 9, 2003.

Is that true?

It sounds true to me. I heard it before.

Yes, I where the interview was, but Janice Withrow (former PR) said that shortly after TTD was announced.

This one?

I drove past GL today, and there were still kids rides in this area. I am not sure if they were the same parts, because I didn't pay close attention.

If it helps, that perticular shot was taken at the intersection of Depot Rd. and Geauga Lake Rd. near the railroad tracks looking in a South-Western direction.

^Thanks Jason, turns out it is my memory that is faulty, not the actual location.

There is a clear photo in the BooBuzz thread over at CoasterBuzz that does seem to confirm the red balloon parts on location at CP.

Ah, good. Glad someone got a clear photo. I felt bad not being able to get a better one, but know from reading that I better not try to report a sighting without a picture of some sort ;)

Not that there arn't already tons of kiddie rides that are all virtualy identical anyway. But, Cedar Point already has a Balloon Race. Are these different? Not that it matters. If the new one went in at Peanuts Playground, the 2 rides would be in 2 totaly different areas of the park. And just theme it a little different and to the kids it's a different ride.

Im gonna miss them.

I'm heading up this weekend and I have a high powered camera, I will try to get some more shots. Is there anywhere else in the park that seems to have something going on? I wouldnt be upset if they didn't build a new ride as long as they invest in the parks look and feel in general.

This may also be part of "Who will get what?" of the Geauga thread, but I saw a Wikipedia thread suggesting a focus on kiddie rides, with an expansion including Beaver Land Mine Ride from GL.

Wikipedia is user driven. Just because someone puts a rumor on wiki, doesn't make it any more credible that if it was posted here. It's not like Kinzel is posting on Wiki.

Judging by the lack of Technology advances in park infrastructure, I would doubt if Kinzel knows that Wikipedia exists.
