2008 Watch

No. It would be just out of the photo to the right. Its right in the corner by the stairs that go to the right of the arcade entrance.

^I really like the way someone else explained it. This isn't Roller Coaster Tycoon, you can't just move a ride, especially one of that size, very easily. Nor is there a need to move it.

I have to say, I wasn't all that happy to see Demon Drop for sale in 2005, but it I've had lots of time to say goodbye.

Now give a couple hours and there will be a GL comment coming.

^ What ride are you talking about being moved?

^^ Yeah, and what about a Geauga Lake comment?

I'm interested to hear whether there actually is a webcam looking onto the area.

Due to the possibilty that Peanuts Playground may not be around next year I spent some extra time there with my son Saturday. We were also looking at the markings. The nails circled in green are often referred to as PK Nails in the engineering business. They are surveyor's bench marks. The red paint is buried electric, the orange is buried telephone and yellow is buried natural gas. While some of the markings showed a decernable path for these utilities there were also many random dots throughout. I could only guess that those may indicate individual concrete slabs to be removed. I have doubts about that as they weren't marked as they normally would be for removal. They could be locations of elevation shots taking by the surveyor, however there is usually a grid pattern to those shots. Plus, they are normally done at consistently spaced intervals. These have no pattern at all. Other than those guesses, I don't know what the randoms dots indicate

PK stands for Paker-Kalon the maker of the nails. These appear to be a different brand. The term PK Nail is somewhat generic like kleenex.

I hope they keep at least part of the playground. I could see them reducing it's size. I hope the keep the train too. Depending on the plans (if any) they may be able to work around or reconfigure the train.

Did anybody see the plywood on the beach by the stadium. It looks like thare using it for heavy equipment. I also saw that we might have a new train for Penuts Playground it was by the ballon race parts by DT

I belive that plywood is used for the Jet Skis.

Thats what I thought but there set up in two rows about 4ft away from each other starting from the Stadium then leads all the way to the fence, then turns left, and thare was a pile of plywood right by the tow rows. Wasnt the jet skis put away after Labor Day so why wloud the plywood still be out. but we all know Cp is slow at putting some (notice i didnt say all) things away

Wow some of you are too involved in these little details. I was there saturday and sunday and didn't notice or try to notice anything. I guess I was just having too much fun with my friends, enjoying the last couple days in the park.

I was there on friday saturday and sunday. I did keep my eyes open just in case but all I saw was the stuff over by DT and the paintmarks and plywood on the beach. The only other thing I noticed was a large volume of lumber sitting next to Gemini but since there was equipment inside the ride as well as some lumber I dismissed that as being no more than an overhaul for the coaster. I also did notice some guys doing something on max-air, one put some tools in a bucket and the other pulled the bucket up to him at the top that was on saturday. Nothing else though.

Beyond that I was trying to get my hands on a golden ticket on sunday but I missed one of the guys by about 1 minute. He had just given it out. Anyone else here get one?

A friend that was at the park today said they were already dismantling Peanut's Playground. I'll have to see if he has pics.

Well that explains why it's taking so long to get it reopened.

Worker 1: "Is that it?"

Worker 2: "Nope. Put a different one in the bucket."

Worker 2: "Maybe. Let's see here....uh....nope. Put a different one in the bucket."

Promoter of fog.

My guess is if Peanut's Playground is on the way out its simply because the far superior playground fka Looney Toon's Boomtown from GL is going in. I cant imagine CP not having an area like that, little kids like it so much.

lol ^^ I just hope they do something with the fake tree thats a slide

Tim,

That's very interesting information..now, was it just off-season dismantling, or was it actually being torn apart in such a way that its being replaced by something?

This would also explain the webcam pointing in that direction...

I do hope its an update for the kids, they're the ones that need something new now, not us adults. We got Maverick this year, its time for something else. (and yes, before anyone jumps in, I know that kids do ride Maverick, thats not the point)

Not my 49" tall nephew. Maverick's height requirement is 52". Though, I can't imagine he'll be too interested in a Playground update. Though my niece and other nephew who aren't 48" yet might appreciate it. :) Next year will be their first trip to Cedar Point.
