Magnum Kevin, only you.. Wait, no I lie, I could see my Kevin doing the same thing.. :)
Chris Bell you have to come back! Dutch burgers! You have to come back if only for Dutch burgers!
And just to put an end to this argument about Magnum and Raptor.. Dragster crew rocks face, end of story.
Hey! So I am going to apply for 2006...what are my chances of getting to work at the Raptor, Wicked twister, or Millennium force??
My getting placed on Raptor was (I consider) mostly luck.
Kerrah asked durring my interview: "What is your favorite ride?"
And I said Raptor. Two weeks later, I got my contract and it said Raptor.
Thats all.
Oh... and refusing to work Paddlewheel. :) *** Edited 12/3/2005 12:07:09 AM UTC by Rider***

In regards to waiting tables...
I worked at Dominics in Breakers a few years back. Didn't go too well. Could have been because we were not the "feature restaurant" at the Hotel. Guests were annoyed to learn that we didn't have pizza, and we didn't have the Cache of TGIF.
Most waiters quit within a few weeks and many of us all got jobs at the same restaurant on the 250 Strip, even a few out of towners. 2x the tips 3x the creative freedom, and 50% less meaningless policies and hassle.

Well if I could go back to Cedar Point next year (As unlikely as that is seeing as how I "quit for personal reasons" aka fired) I would really like to go into Live E
Thats what I wanted to go into originally and then challenge park picked me up early and would not let me transfer.
Oh well the lessons learned, like don't expect to be able to transfer from where you are placed and if you injure yourself on the job, then report it right then, other wise you might find your self being terminated for not being able to work.
Oh well while I was there I did have fun and would love to go back if they would take me, mabye if I talk directly to the Live E Silvers I might be able to work something out, here's hoping.
you know, Phil was probably telling the truth. You can't really crap on the Raptor, we started out with fantasmic numbers.....so there :P
No, Phil told me he was lying...anyway, Magnum had the best for the year, so thats all that matters...
This will be my first season, so I'm not really sure what to say in the interview. I want to work on Millennium Force, but I figure a lot of people probably want to work there (since it's the #1 coaster and all). Besides that I can't start until May 30 so I figure that will cut my chances down some too. I don't want to say MF, it already have a full crew, and I get stuck somewhere crappy. So I'm debating on saying a ride that I think I may have a better chance at. But it's like i read in another post, just because you say it in the interview doesn't mean your certain to get it. What do you guys think I should do? Take the chance or play it safe.
During the Interview just say something like "I would like to be placed on Millennium Force." You may or may not end up on the actual ride, but if you don't express your interest in the ride. That with good work performance will give you the edge on being moved there if someone leaves the ride for whatever reason.
yea, I decided, that since there is no spot on the application to request a ride preference, I emailed them and asked for a specific ride if possible. Hopefully they will take it into account, but if not, I am just excited to be there! and of course, ill probably say something in the interview...

Its probably best if you just wait for your interview rather than using the work @ cedarpoint.com address. The way the hiring process works is that after you have applied your application will go into a database.
Each area manager then accesses the database looking for potential applicants for their department. If you chose a department as one of your top choices then your application will be flagged for that department and will most likely be viewed by that department before any other. If the manager likes what they see then they can lock your application to their department and your online account status will show that your account is being reviewed by ______.
Depending on the manager you will either get a phone call or an email from that specific manager that is interested in hiring you to set up an interview.
By emailing a request like that to work @ cedarpoint.com, your email will just go to the human resources department, which is not the actual person that will be making the hiring or placement decision if/when you are hired.
The best advice I can give you would be just to wait for the interview and when they are asking you if you have any questions or anything, tell them that you'd really like to be at a specific location, but you'd gladly accept any offer. If that location is in that particular manager's area and they still need people for it, your chances are very good to be placed there. If your manager is not in charge of that area, they could pass your app. and interview notes off to another manager or they could simply assign you to another ride within their area.
In any case, you will find out what location they are assigning you to 2-3 weeks after your interview when you get your contract. Keep in mind though that your contract is not final and that you could be moved to other locations as needed. I was contracted to Raptor Photo and on my first day I found out that I was being scheduled at Millennium Photo instead. I worked basically the entire summer at Millennium Photo, just doing breaks and filling in when people called off at other locations. I don't think I even got to work at Raptor until like mid-July, but it does happen so don't get too discouraged if the location you are contracted to isn't your first choice. There is a good chance that you could either be moved because another location is in need of people or in the worst case scenario, you can always tell your manager that you aren't really happy where you are and ask to be re-assigned.

so, what happens after you get your contract? is there anything else you have to do before you process in?

Your contract comes in a package. You have to sign the contract and send it back with the other forms. There is a checklist of things that need to be sent back. It's very basic information and takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. If you need to make any changes then contact the manager at the phone number listed on your copy of the contract. If changes are approved and require a new contract then you will get a new contract.
You will need the yellow copy of the contract to take with you to Cedar Point. This will get you into housing the day before your contract date. You also will process in with it and will need proper ID. (State ID or license and SS card)
I e-mailed Cedar Point a while back and they said I couldn't live in housing because I wasn't graduating from high school even though I'll be 18. I posted this a while back in this same topic. I decided I'd give it a shot though and just try to get part time on weekends. I really want Raptor. If not, I just don't want to get stuck on a flat ride. Although I hear Cad Cars are fun.
Season Pass Holder-2003/2004/2005/2006
Cad Cars are awesome!! I worked there almost all last season. It is a little harder and more physical then some of the other rides. There can be a lot of running and the cars love to break in like the middle of the track. It is an Awesome ride though.
As for 2006, I am going for Millenimum Force. They have like the best TL in the world working there. The TLs at Raptor and TTD are also great too. If I get offered leadership at Cad Cars though, I am so going for it.
