Well, this year's Magnum crew did have a hard act to follow! ;)
I'm glad you are cocky Kevin. I think everyone who works Magnum needs a little bit of that. But you also need a crew full of people willing to bust their ass to back up their words. I didn't really see that happening this year. Leadership setting a good example and settling for nothing less than people's best right from the start is the only way that there is a chance for it to happen. You have to be proud to work the greatest ride in the world! Proud enough that you don't let the dumb things that management tosses your way get you down completely. Being cocky while contunually letting last year's numbers pound yours by 1,000+ per day just looks dumb.
Almost as dumb as having a rivalry with Mantis! How can any ride (especially a ride with great capacity and a history of great crews - like Raptor) have a rivalry against Mantis? That is like Carl Lewis having a rivalry against a Special Olympics runner!
-Matt
Our rivalvry with Mantis came from us being the only B&M coasters in the park. We blew them away, obviously. Our numbers rival has always been Magnum, and I think our crew should've won that too. Oh, if I could have a nickel for every time I had to pop the harnesses because a guest had a backpack or everytime a guest took over 20 seconds to put their articles in the bins!!

We didn't have a rivalry with Mantis. We had one with their crew. Always following us around after work. Like an annoying little brother. Actually... that is a good way to put it. The Mantis/Raptor crew thing is like sibling rivalry. And of course, the older sibling is always better. :)
Oh and Matt... ask Kevin how much he liked working at Raptor this year!

I'm torn between the 2 B&M coasters as to which one I wanna work. Mantis was my ride and I worked Raptor one Friday in October. After that I have to say Raptor is my favorite ride I've worked all season but I know Mantis so well I'm not really sure which one I would take for 2006.

I wouldn't trust an 18 year old ride who can't do long division.
