Who will be There Opening Day 06'

Ok, so Mikey, lets just do it in the right side shelter. What do you think? What about everyone else? This will be fun meeting all of you. Where all are you planning on putting signs Mikey?

I was hoping to hang one sign from the ceiling of the pavilion. Although if I remember right, it is kinda high. I will for sure hang one on the outside end cap of one of the benches, so it is visible to the guests coming in from the lot. And just for everyones clarification, that is the right side shelter when you are looking into the park from the outside of the main gate. The east side shelter.

right now it looks like this:

-Current Head Count- about 30.

Mikeybo2004: Dessert, signs, chips.

Ejh1701: Hot dogs and pop

Pepsi: Plasticware, small grill

punkypiko: Condiments (Mustard, Ketchup), Foam plates

Punky, I have chips taken care of. In fact I purchased enough already. Can you bring foam plates? Thanx

Mikey

Foam plates, you got it =)

Awesome!

Ok great, we will try to get the tables where those people are sitting in the picture that walt showed us. Hopefully they will not already be taken. Is someone bringing hot dog buns? Thanx for the plates punky.

Mikey

I'll bring the buns. I didn't look back but is the charcoal covered? Only four weeks to go guys, this will be fun.

Thank you coasterking for the buns. I do not think that anyone covered charcoal yet.

I think the gathering is a great idea, but I will not be able to attend, unfortunately. I will be in the park early on Opening Day, but not that early. We are staying at Breakers Express Friday and Saturday night. When I come across the bay, I will be heading directly for the Gemini lot and the Magnum gate. I am hoping to be on the first guest train of the year. (Probably with Jerry & Randy). I will definitely have my PointBuzz shirt on that day, so if you see someone 6'7" tall with that shirt, khaki pants and blue sports glasses strapped to his head, come right up and say hello! I hope to see several people I have met already, and meet some new folks. I will also be there on Sunday afternoon, starting about 4pm until about 7pm.

Hey Punky (or anyone else) - If you see me at Breakers Express over the weekend, say howdy!

BTW - The video I made around Christmas is still available for download. If you have not seen it yet, I think it is kind of cool and you might like it if you are a Magnum fan. It is an MP4, and is available at http://home.earthlink.net/~bretzhome

I will bring the New Castle/Coney Island Chili, buns, and what else is needed? I figure so far head count being at about 30 so far. I can also bring napkins. What else are we missing? Oh yea, the charcoal and the lighterfluid, is anyone bringing that?

Also, does anyone know the earliest that we can get into the parking lot? What about the timing, if everyone shows up at 7:30 A.M it takes a while for the coals to get ready to cook on, will this be enough time to grill and still make it to the park for E.R.T for Joe Cool/resort members. Just so who ever brings the charcoal & lighter fluid are there the same time. Are there any other suggestions?

You should be able to get in without a problem. Just use the toll booth to the far left, the Main Toll Booth.

I have one suggestion, Plan on about half to three quarters attendance. Many plan on coming to events like this, but then never show up, for whatever reason.

You don't want to run out of food, but you don't want to have a ton of it left over either. If 30 say they are coming, I'd bring food 15 to 20. Just some advice from a retired party planner for 6,800.

If you do have food left over, or are bringing a lot, why not have another meeting time at the end of the night? Eat the last of the food so you have less to drive home with.

Im sure that if there is going to be free food, people will come back later to eat it.

That is a good idea 99er and too bad you can't be there MrScott. We can all meet up around lunch time too and get to know one another better.

Yeah, that is a good point. So will we be meeting in the morning or in the afternoon or are we meeting at both times?

I figured since most of us have never met each other before I'd introduce myself now =).

I'm Rachel and I'll be attending with my fiance Matt, we love Raptor and we have a severe case of cabin fever waiting on opening day!

That's us with our main man Snoopy.

Can't wait to see you all on opening day!

Ok, we are bringing the buns , chili, and two side dishes. We still need charcoal & fluid. I would offer to bring it but we are comming from western Pa. and it takes 2 1/2 hours to get there and it's going to be hard enough to be there by 7:30. Any volunteers?
