What Would You (Realistically) Like To See @ Cedar Point in the Future

To me, that would be like purchasing the most expensive pickups you can find, and installing them in a Squier Stratocaster. If by "slight revamp," you mean razing the structure and freeing up some real estate, then I wholeheartedly agree.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

^ That almost sounds like the idea I posted a couple pages ago. I think that would be neat if you could save the first hill of Mean Streak and revamp it like the last poster said. Put in some crazy 90 degree turns like Voyage and it would be a kick butt ride again.

I agree with the idea of a boardwalk along the lakeside. The Ferris wheel is already there, so you could add a cyclone type coaster and other coney island games and rides.

I would like to see a new state of art dark ride constructed at CP. I miss the old pirate ride & San Francisco Earthquake dark rides that were removed. Something like Curse of Darkastle at Busch Gardens in Virginia would be cool.

First, Gravity Group coasters are not known for being rough. Have you ever been on Voyage? Also, Gravity Group technically is not new. While the name is, all the designers go back to the early `90's with CCI, I think before GCI. So they have been around awhile building coasters and now that they have the new Timberliners (which I prefer over Millennium Flyers), it is really how much you want to spend that might be the decision on which company to go for. :)

How can you prefer trains you have never ridden in yet?

I am all for the boardwalk ideas. It seems like no matter what they do (WT, MaXair) there is no draw to that portion of the park. I would not be surprised if DT went sometime soon. Probably the best idea for a coaster in this area is a GCI twister. I actually would not be surprised at all if we saw one in this area within a few years.

I know that Soak City draws decent sized crowds but I am surprised at how outdated that water park is when you compare it to the likes of Splashin Safari at Holiday World and some of the other water parks. Im kinda shocked a Tornado slide has not been added there yet since so many water parks have added one. Heck, they just built a water park out in the middle of a farm field by me (far west Chicago suburbs) and even they have a tornado slide! I have been going to CP multiple times a year for 10 years now, and still have yet to go to Soak City, and I like water parks!

Mean Streak and Son of Beast seem like they are both prime candidates for the Texas Giant makeover if it is successful. Im cool with that as long as it doesnt become a trend and parks start turning their wood coasters into steel.

^ Gravity Group let people test them at IAAPA Expo this year.

I think Gravity Group has done ride rehabs where they keep the structure but the put a whole new track down. This could also be another possibility for Mean Streak. Maybe some 90 degree banking?

I don't understand why some of you think disaster transport should go. The numbers for the ride are very high, and it always has a line. It's a great starter coaster, and a good way to get out of the sun. Why would they remove a ride that still has good numbers?

If you think about it, there is always a crowd near disaster and space spiral, and then it's like a ghost town near choas and twister.

Like many others have said, I think they are in need of a good dark ride. Dark castle is a great example of what they could do.

I think it's because of the possibilities that would arise if Disaster Transport wasn't there. I mean I think Disaster Transport is a good ride, but it would be cool if you had a wooden coaster along the beach. That's my reasoning for making comments about it. I think everyone including me just has nice fantasys about that area.

Two words:

FLYING SCOOTER.

Preferably one that flies like the one at Carowinds.

I really am starting to believe that a dark ride like the one at Busch Gardens Virginia would do amazing at CP. It took me by suprise when I rode it. It was so neat, and it was built by Intamin so there CP and Intamin can be buddies still. :)

I really think it could be a cheaper way to bring in huge crowds, because nobody in Ohio has seen one that is cool like that.

At IAAPA I had the chance to check out the trains. While you are correct about not having rode them yet, I think I can still make a decent judgment about them. I was able to look at just about every inch of the lead car, including underneath it and at the steering. After talking with Chad from Gravity Group about how they preform and what they are capable of doing, I am confident that I will enjoy them more. Not to mention how comfortable they are. I am a big guy and I was amazed at how much room I had in the seat and for my legs. These cars are already a win for me!

Holiday World has a great water park. A water park that is in the middle of nowhere and needs to offer new attractions to keep its guests coming. Soak City is an add on to Cedar Point and not a standalone water park that has to draw its crowds in. I have said before that people don't drive from Oklahoma just for Soak City. There is a reason Soak City does great without having to add new slides every couple years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Hmmm...Don't you think you should try it before making the conclusion that it is outdated? How do you know you won't like Soak City if you have never tried it out? This confuses me.

Soak City offers a great get away for those that stay at the park for the weekend. It's a great way to go for half the day or the day to relax from Cedar Point. The slides are good and being to relax in the lazy river on the east end is a great plus. I enjoy Soak City as a time to relax from the main park. I would like to see more slides put in but for right now I am happy with what they have, they have great selections for slides and I always have fun there.

I don't know how people can say they can relax at a water park. I do more work in 1 day at the waterpark, then I do all week at work.

A lot of walking, stairs, carring large tubes around, standing in long lines, out in the sun all day. After a day at the water park, I am ready for a long nap.

While it's true Soak City is an add-on to CP, in my opinion it does not warrant the extra money the park charges for the ride and slide combo ticket. A tornado slide or something along those lines, would definitely be an added incentive for some people to splurge on a ride and slide ticket instead of a regular admission. Soak City is adequate for those with a platinum pass and those staying at the resort. I'd like to know the number of pass holders/resort guest who visit Soak City vs. those who do not.

Sounds like you need an office job. For me, all that exercise and sun is a vacation. :)

That's why you just grab a tube and fall asleep in the lazy river. :)

I don't know if I would want a flying coaster at Cedar Point. I have been on many flying coasters (Slealth/Nighthawk @ Great America & Carowinds, X-Flight/Firehawk - GL & KI, Time Warp @ Canada's) and was never impressed with any aspect of the ride. To me, they are horrible on getting people through the line, short and rather uneventful, and uncomfortable. However, I have never been on one made by B&M (only Vekoma) so the ones at Six Flags or Sea World may be better. I think there are a lot better coasters out there to choose from than flying coasters.

The B&M flyers (at least Tatsu and Manta) are infinitely better than the Vekoma models.
