What Would You (Realistically) Like To See @ Cedar Point in the Future

1. A pier heading out into the lake would be brilliant. Fill it with shops, games, shows, and flats. It will clear up midway space.

2. I agree with the complete makeover of DT, make it legit.

3. More live entertainment. Concerts, shows, whatever. ^ a juggler/roaming clown is perfect.

4. Possibly keep a Halloweekends attraction or two open year-round. They are a lot of fun, and just because it is "scary" doesn't mean it can't be open in June.

I expect great things from Cedar Point, and have been satisfied for the most part. I love the park, but I would like to see it continue to grow.

More additions into Halloweekends. And as much as having a Halloweekends event open year round would be nice...it'd be hard to staff it. I did an event like that in the middle of July and it gets really hot, and when you wear a costume along with a mask and make up, it gets even more hot and didn't really go off so well. If anything add more into the themes, and I'd love to see a zone and/or haunted house that is gore and more intense then what there is now.

^ I don't think this would be a great idea because Hallo-weekends is one of their main times for profit. The highest numbers of attendance or hit then (Columbus Day weekend). If they had this attraction opened during the whole park season, there wouldn't be as big of a draw to come in during that time. I think a great alternative to this would be a walk through attraction or even a haunted house dark ride.

I would love a boardwalk along Lake Erie ...I think it would add a lot more character to the park. Cedar Point is a great park and we all know it, but adding a new section and revamping certain areas of the park (Blue Streak's midway included) would improve the park overall.

I would like to see a floorless too. I loved dominator at Geauga Lake and though it was one of the best coasters I had been on. I liked hydra at Dorney Park and haven't really heard of Cedar Fair adding any floorless coasters at any of their parks since.

I'd like to see the live traveling band from the 80's; they used to stroll around the park and hold impromptu concerts; they were very good and very entertaining.

I'd also like to see the return of the Trio of Terror to Halloweekends.

I feel old. :)

Ahhhh yes.......the hobo band.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The one downfall with a boardwalk into lake erie would be the winter. The ice and how it moves on the lake can cause a lot of problems to the supports over years out into the lake. And yes I do agree that a Halloweekends like event in the summer can be a downfall, that's why I'd like to see more put into the event when the event actually happens. I think a big plus was the overlord speech before we went out, giving guests a good chance to all Screamsters together and gave a great chance to show their kids us and gave a good photo op.

I would also like to see more added to Boneville on the train ride and to Paddlewheel Excursion. Also, in wishful thinking, I'd like to see the return of the game that was where Johnny Rockets was( I can't think of the name off the top of my hand, but I know I also saw a crowd and it was a really fun game to play by yourself or with friends).

Yeah I feel the same way dude. That was the one thing that I missed about Geauga Lake Closing. I really enjoyed Thunder Hawk and Dominator. When I did go to Geauga Lake, I hung out on that side the most. I would say 1 or 2 times a year. I always choose to go to Cedar Point. Anyway though, It's weird how Kings Dominion and Dorney Park are the only parks that have a Floorless coaster.

In response to a "year round halloween" deal, I think it'd be neat (and this is purely imaginative) to have a "ghost town" section, separate from the main midways, much like what Thorpe Park is doing with Saw. The main piece would be a dark ride themed to the area with roaming actors (nothing as fancy as HW in terms of makeup) and maybe a haunt that only opens during HW.

Of course the quint essential part of this is the theming aspect and......well you know. ;)

Your talking about Fascination. That was a fun game to play when your tired of walking and need a rest. I won a Demon Drop shirt there back in the 80's.

There are three thing I would like to see happen at Cedar Point in the next 10-15 years.

First off I would like too see DT taken down like Texas Stadium, even make an event out of it and let people watch from the parking lot. That would be cool... Clean out the "Backstage" area between Space Sprial and Demon's Footprint. Maybe move all of the offices and storage that they have back there to a new building where the Point Pavilion is. Also cut the sprial lot in half by moving the fence and empolyee gate back about 150 feet. Now look you have several acres of prime land open. Use that land to buld a roughly 195 foot tall Intamin Prefab Woodie. Maybe an L-shaped out and back with a station rigth around where 3 Point is and a first drop right along the beach. This ride would likely have the "Raptor effect" where everyone whats to ride it because it is the first thing that they see. Having a great capicty of 1400-1600 per hour would be nice too. It would really turn around the front of the park an area that could really use some TLC.

Second I would like to see that boardwalk we all are talking about. I do agree that having a pier would not work out well with the ice sheets along the coast in the winter. What would be nice is an open boardwalk with games on the parkside and benches on the lakeside. I imagine it would start just south of Wicked Twisters south spike and end at the beach gate near Ocean Motion. I don't think it would need anything in the way of a ride on it as it could be more of a laid back, sit down and take in the breeze after a long day at the park, kind if area. It would also be a great place to catch the fireworks on the 4th.

Third, have a massive bonfire in the back of the park and have Mean Streak as the center piece. Clear out the whole Mean Streak area as well as the maintence building by Gemini Transfers. It its place build a B&M Dueling Flying Coaster similar to Dueling Dragons. It would be amazing to have a face to face flyby about 2 feet apart. I know this would be a stretch but it would be amazing. Give it a fighter jet theme maybe something Top Gun-ish. It would have an amazing capicity so it would never have a crazy line.

Well those are just some ideas I have thrown around while working at the park, fell free to tear them apart as much as you want.

They did. It's called Boo Hill. :)

When, or if, they ever take MS out, i think it needs to be replaced with another wood coaster. Having a steel coaster back there just wouldn't fit the old west "decor" at all. I know Maverick is back there and all, but they did a pretty good job "decorating" (can't use the word "theme" when you are talking about CP") the area with the old west in mind. But with MS being there all these years, IMO, i'd rather see another big mass of wood than steel track and supports behind the train station. Two "steelies" right next to each other in "frontier town" just doesn't fit the old west picture in my mind, no matter how they choose "decorate" it.

I definately would hope that the next coaster coming would be a killer wooden coaster! One worthy of a massive debate over who has the best!

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

With the terrain...or lack thereof...I'm not sure CP can ever get into the category of "best wooden".

1) Live shows in Oceana stadium several times a day, every day.

2) Dark ride. Have a walk-through portion as part of the queue for atmosphere and to extend the experience.

3) Aqualoop slide at Soak City. Have you seen this? It's like Bomb Bay but with an inversion. Probably need 2 or more of these slides on one platform to increase capacity.

4) You know the Johnsonville bratwurst cart with the reasonably-priced meal deal? What a good idea - tolerable food that isn't outrageously overpriced. How about a cheeseburger or BBQ sandwich, chips and a 12-oz soda all for $7? $7.50?

Just say no to trims

I love when Johnsonville decides to come visit. Not bad for the money at all.

^ Yeah, as I mentioned in the food thread, that's the only place in the park where I feel that I'm getting a roughly fair money/food exchange rate.

Is there some kind of schedule for when the brat cart is there? It seems like it's always there around lunchtime in the summer. Are the people who staff it CP employees or independent contractors? I've always kidded around with friends that it looks like some guys sneaked it in to the park to undercut the high food prices.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

1. Here we go....Have any of you ever eaten at Boston Market? How about replacing Midway Market with that......:) bring on the market restaurants.....

2. Turn DT back into Avalanche run and re-theme that whole WT beach boardwalk area into a Swiss-Chalet-Nordic theme with a twist! The twist being on a beach, that is! (no pun intended for W. Twister!)

3. Spice up the Blue streak area by utilizing the old pirate ride building, but still have it open for Boo Hill kids haunted house.

4. Build a giant funnel tornado water slide. Those are fun. Enough said.

5. And last, do something for MF's 10th. Even if it's the smallest thing.....:)

^ I don't know about #2 Miss Maverick. I mean it's a nice idea, but to me it's kind of cool having Disaster Transport in the dark. That's just my thought though. I would rather them move Disaster Transport to Michigan Adventure and maybe build a nice wooden coaster along the beach. Now that idea is a nice fantasy, but I doubt they would make that a reality. Tony if you're reading this post, don't worry it's just an idea that I was throwing around.
