What Would You (Realistically) Like To See @ Cedar Point in the Future

I don't think the queue starts before the big loop.

Edit - I don't know, maybe it does, I thought it was about 20 yards after the loop.

The entrance is just to the right (if you're heading toward FT) of the RR crossing by MF.

OK, I see what you're thinking... that the entrance to the queue is technically further down. But so what? As far as guests are concerned, the entrance is right where the sign is.

I didn't realize this was the wrong thread initially, but I disagree. It's kind of a stupid arguement anyways.

This is what the push pin lists as the ride (entrance?)

Correct, and that's exactly where the actual entrance is.

The trash can bottom/center/right is where the push pin is located. It is not "exactly" or "precisely" where the entrance to the queue is.

LOL - this is nuts, everytime I walk in mantis now I'm going to think about damn djDaemon

That entire area is Mantis' entrance plaza, Kyle.

So long as you concede it is no longer "exactly" or "precisely" where the entrance to the queue is, fine.

Ok, I promised myself I wasn't going to join in, and I'll probably regret throwing in my 2 cents, but here are my thoughts on it. I think the pin is located just fine. If you walk down that sidewalk past Mantis's loop, you are going to ride Mantis. It is the only thing down there. Besides, I bet if you put the pin where the queue line starts you'd have first time CP guests confused in the MF midway looking for the entrance to that "crazy looking roller coaster with all the flips that you stand up on"

This is going to spell serious trouble for people who people who exclusively use GPS in lieu of their senses of perception.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

To get back on track, if a woodie were to go in next year, would you all rather it be a huge intamin like El Toro or a GCII like Prowler?

Or, a Gravity Group.

My vote would be for GG. GCII coming in second, and Intamin being the 3rd...

To me the prefabs just don't feel like wooden coasters. They're awesome, but I have a hard time classifying them as woodies.

Where was Mantis' original entrance at, by the way?

Everyone is so confused as to what you are asking and what is being said about Mantis haha. Miss Maverick is referring to my post about what I would like to realistically see at Cedar Point and I said Mantis' entrance back in it's original location.

It's original location is (and correct me if I'm wrong), just to the left of Mantis' Immelman loop. You had to cross over that set of train tracks right there. I liked it in that location better IMO. That's why I would relocate it back to it's original location.

I'd love to see a GCII. I really beleive that this is what we're going to get. Gravity Group looks amazing too. I have absoluetly nothing against Intamin PreFabs. In fact, I think a prefab at CP would be better because of the harsh winter conditions. If Intamin PreFab did a twister coaster, that be the one that I'd want.

Here are my odds:

  • GCII: 52%
  • Intamin PreFab: 31%
  • Gravity Group: 11%
  • Other/No Coaster: 6%

Reasons:

GCII is at 52% for the exact reason that they don't go much higher than 100 ft. (Renegade, their tallest, goes 104 ft). Other than that, I love their coasters design, as well as Flyer trains.

Intamin PreFab is at 31% because of the relationship between CP and Intamin. If not for that previous relationship, it definetly wouldn't be that high. El Toro is the only prefab in America. There are only 4 prebfabs in the world. That being said, I think this technology is wonderful, which is why they are my #2.

Gravity Group is over 10% because they make great coasters, and with the addition of Timberliner trains, I think a GG coaster would be great.

There is a slight chance that next year won't be a coaster. This is the reason for the 6% differential.

From the Wishful Thinking Dept;

I would love to see a nice long coaster installed. I don't care about height, but speed should be above average around 70-80mph.

Something that starts either up front or in back and traverses the entire park to complete a circuit that takes back to the station. So you start where Demon Drop was, get speed somehow and follow the coast back to Mean Streak, make a turn back there and follow the western portion of the park, pass Milennium Force, over Coasters and work your way down the midway. All in all a ride like that should top 5 minutes. Throw in some air time elements, maybe some LIMs to keep momentum and who knows, maybe pass through Raptor, Mantis or any of the other rides.

That would be pretty cool.

A ride that long is WAY beyond the vast majority of people's threshold for an enjoyable experience.

The Beast is 4:50 and since this is sort of a wishlist thread, it doesn't matter very much. Can you maybe go a whole day without trying to shoot down everything everyone says on this board?

I don't think I would call this thread a "wish list" since the title says 'Realistically' even though some people on here are starting to treat it like a wish list.

It is something I would realistically would like to see and can be done. What I meant by "wish list" is that no matter how down to earth something might be, its all wishful thinking on our part as Cedar Point has their own plans and isn;t taking an enthusiast board as part of their project planning.

The scrutiny is boring and killing threads left and right.

I don't really see a problem with it, maybe its just me. You can continue to discuss a topic in a thread even if someone posts something that you think is scrutiny, no reason to just stop all together because of that.
