Were going in a whole new direction idea

Are you missing something in your head?

You are trying to make a point that isn't valid. He even said "This is not going to happen". Yet you still keep fighting a point that it won't happen. He said it WASN'T going to happen. So why are you still telling him exactly what he said?

I know this concept was brought up before, but if that video of Port Aventura's new ride is accurate, the supports resemble a lot of what we are seeing on Project 2007. Aquatrax or this new type of rocket have my vote, I'd be happy with either of them.

I have to admit, the similarities of what we see here at CP, and what can be seen in that now famous video are downright uncanny.

I won't say I'm totally sold that that HAS to be it... it's just... interesting. ;)

If it is, I hope it's not that short.

Tim, all I got from your and Gravity's argument is that you’re basically telling Gravity not to post something that might seem illogical. Illogical or not, it's his own opinion and everybody is entitled to them. If someone posts something that might seem unlikely, don’t go saying they’re wrong. Respect every ones opinion.

And he said right from the start it's not going to happen, hence the "disclaimer".

Just be a bit more careful of how you read posts and, like I said, respect peoples opinions.
Fell free to post your ideas, but let people post their ideas too without saying "they're wrong" or "that wont happen".
Trust me, it's easy and full of rewards.....like no arguments....and respect from fellow members.

Awsome concept! I do however, agree with Coastern3rd. Can you show us a longer one?

Gomez's avatar

I think others have said this, but the whole new direction can very well be that this coaster isn't tall like the last three built at CP, but short and close to the ground.

The more I view that video, the more I can see that type of thing at CP. It seems unique and fits the shape and supports we are seeing.

I agree. From what all of us can see from the photos, hitting 500ft. can and should be eliminated. MrScott, however, still has my interest. Could Intamin possibly do a hyper twisted with water? Just a thought.

I would also drop the hyper idea as well. We can just about confirm it is going to hug the ground and there isn't really any row of foundations that could fit a lift hill that could go very high.

While I agree about the ride not being very tall, I cant help but point out the supports in this pic. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=486
The 2 large ones on the right seem to go with the 2 large ones on the left. And because the 2 on the right dont seem to have track connectors at either of their ends, I think it's safe to assume theres another section that will connect to them!

So take one from the left and add it to one from the right plus another for track and you have yourself a decent sized support!

Don't dismiss the underground theory so flippantly. I work at a company that manufactures waterproofing, among other things, and I can tell you that architecturally it's not that difficult to keep a tunnel leak-free. Even if there were leaks, a well-placed sump pump or two could take care of anything short of a total failure. And don't even worry about a cave-in; there are tunnels around the world that are miles long and many hundreds, if not thousands, of feet below ground.

I'm not saying this is what's going in, only that it's completely plausible. It certainly would be a rush to ride a coaster at CP that went underground.

I agree, Mike. They paid, what, 25 mil for TTD? I'm sure CP is paying a fortune for this coaster and the engineers know what they're doing. I would not worry about a leak if the coaster were to go underground. They have to consider all of the variables in advance. :.)

I just hope that IF there is a tuneel, I just hope it's not built by the same guys who did the Big Dig in Boston!

Well, they haven't exactly gone backwards yet, upside-down.

Oh and for the last time, forget all this dive tower, underground crap ... the new ride is none of that.

Flying coaster like the one at Geauga Lake - X Flight?

Maybe this underground tunnel is what Mr. Scott is referring to about the ride involving water!;)

OK. This is a reach. You don't suppose they could possibly put some of the cement pillars in lake Erie to take the coaster out over the water?

Here is my idea on what this means...

I have it on a very good source that the new ride is going to take and turn and spin you upside down on red track and then take and shoot you into the ground through a tunnel at 60 MPH. The cars for this ride are coffin shaped and the lid closes on you so you can not see a thing. After going into the tunnel there is a slab of concrete where you meat your untimely death at the hands of cedar fair...

Disclaimer : This is not a real idea this is just me on no sleep whatsoever and bored and just thinking crap up because i am tired of having no real information to go on....

THIS IS A JOKE :) :)

Ha ha. I got to the coffin part of the train and realized I could not ride it because of my claustrophobia. :-)

This is just a guess but what if you guys are taking this sign way too literal. What if all Cedar Point means is that recently they have been going for big thrills, and now they are going in a diferent direction- as in as not as intense.

OK. I've speculated enough. It's gotta be a coaster going backwards - that's the whole new direction. They have nothing like that. However, how is the water involved?

Fire involved? Will they give out hot dogs to roast before you get on?

LOL! Oh, no. There would be puke everywhere to clean up. We had that happen on the XL last week. They had to clean it then let the train run empty for a few runs to let it dry off. Eww. :-)

Your mom is to fat to ride TTD. said:
Its not going to go underwater or underground. Here is what its going to do...
1. We will be facing backwards while riding.
2. The hieght will be around raptors height.
3. The speed will be 60ish mph.
4. A couple of inversions
5. Barley any straight track in the whole ride.

They're gonna throw barley at us on the straight track? Just kidding. :-)
