Maybe this underground tunnel is what Mr. Scott is referring to about the ride involving water!;)
*** Edited 6/29/2006 10:55:32 AM UTC by ToddJ***OK. This is a reach. You don't suppose they could possibly put some of the cement pillars in lake Erie to take the coaster out over the water?
That will never happen because of maritime regulations
Didn't know about that. Thanks for the info!

RCDB does list Thunderhead at 55mph. No height, but the drop is 100'"The Blazing Fury has a long electrically powered incline through several different scenes. This is then followed by a series of three drops with powered sections in between. While the powered sections are typical of a powered roller coaster and/or dark ride, it is three drops that allow this ride to be considered a roller coaster."
This is why they dont list the height or speed because it is moved by electronic means, possibly similar to the "doom" buggies for the Haunted Mansion ride at WDW.
You may find some better knowledge from the folks a coasterbuzz.com
I couldn't find any more specs either and the manufacturer is unknown. However, I came upon this beautiful picture of the Thunderhead. Is this a gorgeous coaster or what?

Put on your flame suit. True coaster enthusiasts (members of ACE and what not), the majority of them prefer woodies for various reasons that steel coasters cannot live up to. Obviously your statement of woodies is based purely on Mean Streak. Likely you have not been to many other parks. I personally do not care for Mean Streak, but there are those that do. So does that make it 'suck'? Blue Streak is an EXCELLENT woodie, its not 205 feet tall nor rocket you at 78mph, but thats not what makes a good ride. Its the elements, the turns, the drops, that makes a good coaster. Have you ever been to Hershey? Try out the Lightning Racer, thats a good woodie as well.
I would love to get down to Dollyworld and try out thunderhead! Its awesome that they integrated the track to fly through the station! *** Edited 7/23/2006 7:26:01 PM UTC by tonymtdew*** *** Edited 7/23/2006 7:26:37 PM UTC by tonymtdew*** *** Edited 7/23/2006 7:29:20 PM UTC by tonymtdew***

Preface
Ok, I'm prepared for all the backlash before I post so here I go...
What if the idea of a whole new direction is a coaster with seating that faces inward instead of straight forward? Basically, riding side to side instead of front to back. I'm not sure if I explained this clear but hopefully you get the idea.
I don't know if this has been mentioned/built before but I'm sure some will give me some insight.
If anyone wants to know what Cedar Point's new coaster is going to be? Simply go on over to Port Ventura's website and have a look at there new Intamin coaster for 2007. The supports very closely match Cedar Point's supports and so does the height match. Some of the little teasers that Cedar Point has given also lead up to this coaster at Port Ventura such as "Put Two and Two together" and "Are you up for some serious sidewindin"!
I'm beginning to think that this might not be a hugely innovative ride, but something remotely similar to Storm Runner [launched sit down looper], possibly with a reversing section like EE. That gradual incline of supports that seems to be a launch/brake run has a row of unused footers running parallel to it on each side. [http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4418] Possibly it is a transfer/launch track? Like train pulls up, slides onto another track, and is launched in the other direction? From the picture, it seems that there will be multiple tracks leading into that section. That "bike rack track" could be part of the transfer mechanism. I haven't done my research, but it could be the first backwards-launching coaster. Hah. I'm really reaching for ideas here, if you can't tell, but it seems feasable to me.

I got the answer to the "whole new direction":
World's Lowest Coaster.
"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality."
-Walt Disney
Chief I said that in the earlier pages of this thread (I think, if not, some other 2007 thread). But now that it's farther in construction, I'm not sure. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm thinking transfer tracks/station.
Ooh Ooh!! On the left is where it launches in the opposite direction, and on the right is the transfer track. But you can see how the beams are on the right- that it's a sharp turn...possibly coming back to the station; similar to the Millennium Force, into the break run. hee Hee. I hope I'm there. I'm so there....
Edit: Oh dang, he said that already. Oh well. I'm tired.

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
I really like Kinotama's Idea, You could have and outdoor, taller, and faster Revenge of the Mummy like at both Universal parks in the U.S. I have ridden on both of these coasters, and while the West coast version doesn't even compare to the East coast version, they are both absolutely amazing coasters. This could also make the coaster much longer because after each transfer track launch it would pick up more momentum.
I can see it now:
WORLDS LONGEST COASTER CP's new direction. :)
