^^^ I know. Many employees there sound like they are certain what is going to happen next year. I have spoke to several and heard what they had to say about what will be happening next year. When time permits, such as during a ride breakdown, or when getting a free Mantis button at a shop - it is a great opportunity to talk the employees. I have heard a lot from employees this year as I have in the past.
No I do get it, and I do not believe it.
The information just may turn out to be correct, Mantis may indeed get floorless trains - I have no insider information and have never claimed to know what is going to happen.
That being said a large number of front line ride ops say that something is going to happen to Mantis, and they have been saying that for a few months now. They all have a friend who dated someone in management, or a friend who's dad works in engineering at CP, or know someone who once walked by matt Ouimet's office. Or, Mantis ride ops themselves may or may not have said that engineers have been surveying the area.
I have heard it all, and I simply do not refer to it - or try and reference it here as fact because 98% of the time, they are wrong.
Being honest though usually the seasonals do get a good hunch as to what is going in the park. Being there everyday seeing changes, etc. Plus, people do talk. I knew about PWX leaving & Dinos coming in quite a bit before the formal announcement.
I wouldn't be one to go off yapping my lips however, because enthusiasts like the one above blab about it..I now know the date, ride location, and at least gender of someone on that crew who said the above..easy way to get into trouble with management if they really wanted to pull a dick move, and they have..See KI..some employees fired before the season even began with Banshee stuff.
Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011
Devarious, what you mentioned is exactly why I do not believe a lot of what I hear at CP - people that do know something usually wont say anything for risk of getting either themselves, or their source into trouble.
Of course a lot of people have to know what is going on for next year. Everything from a simple building refurbishment to a new 800' aqua trax would require construction companies, engineering firms, ride manufacturers, surveyors etc... Somewhere that chain of secrecy has to break down.
Here's a simple truth.
If anyone at Cedar Point tells you anything, they're making it up.
It really is just that simple.
Of course a lot of people have to know what is going on for next year.
Very true. All people mature enough not to think it's a big deal to let out a secret about a new ride at Cedar Point.

So today, while Gemini was down for a half an hour, I was the only one that waited, and I was talking to a ride op, and he told me that the Mantis trains would be changed, and that it would be named King James. He said that one of the girls that used to work on Gemini dated somebody "high up in management", and he told them.
Might as well ask the lemon chill guy ;)
I remember being told very early in the 2012 season that DT and Space Spiral would be removed mid season and that information came from a ride op. Told us waiting in line for a storm delay to go ride DT since it wasn't gonna be open much longer. She was right, that was on our 1st visit in 2012 and was the 2nd day they were open for the season. So some of the stuff they say is correct, just as Devarious states.
Track has arrived at Carowinds.
Highly doubt that it's for CP. Not sure if they announced a coaster. I don't follow Carowinds.
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3

That has nothing to do with what's coming at all, though. The fact that the rides were coming down was not a very tightly kept secret. Gatekeeper, however, was...until someone found the website info the night before the announcement.
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, and we can all play the "fish in a barrel" game and it's likely someone will be at least partially correct. The speculation and wishlist stuff can also be fun.
But it doesn't change the fact that other than those who are on a need-to-know (or someone who has earned the privilege to know) basis, no one knows.
