This wasn't a major announcement though. Hell, this wasn't even an announcement period. Nothing was announced. More questions were raised than answered.

I liked it, in my opinion it is a great announcement and has me even more interested now. On the edge of my seat. Well done CP.

If they can build a completely new coaster, ground-up, in a little over the length of an offseason, there's absolutely no reason to think replacing even several sections of track, all the trains, and modifying the station would take almost just as long. Doesn't make sense at all.

Why, I would be praising, a marketing department is supposed to create hype, they are creating alot of hype right now.

While I suspect a transformation of Mantis into something new (ie. floorless) it is kind of hard for Cedar Point to continue to call itself "The Rollercoaster Capital of the World" at this point. Magic Mountain clearly holds claim to it and will even more if Mantis is removed all together.

Might finally be time to find a new tag line, always loved "The Amazement Park" and certainly is more fitting these days.

You all should know they're not done. No new for '15 on the main website, no major press release, no media coverage, etc. Just a youtube vid & simple press release, you know they want the word for '15 out to bring people in & back to the park.

This is the teaser..the announcement of the announcement (yodawg.jpg). This got everyones attention, and to get ready for an upcoming release. Y'all thought the speculation was over, it really just kicked off big time for everyone, and now press included.

I see from the article released that it's ganna be torn down or moved, that isn't exactly known yet, but it's ganna be off point one way or another. No notice of it on Italintl for sale yet, so no answers at all yet.

Well, the conversion seems like an inevitability at this point. New paint, new trains, new name.

Referring to my post a few pages back, it's in line with the "sensible" decisions CF has been making ever since the Dragster fiasco.

The days of CP pushing the outer limits are over, I'm afraid... :-(
