Why do you guys think Mantis is going anywhere? They had test paint on it. My money says its staying where its at with a new name/paint/track, whatever..

That seems odd to me as well. I'd like to think there will be more to this project than repainting, new trains, and a new station. We'll see, probably come October 19.

I have to say, I'm disappointed that CP would tell people they are making a major announcement, only to give us a small amount of the total information. Riding the line between hype and annoying. As long as the next announcement doesn't start with "YOLO" we should be good.

I say it's coming down, so they can begin construction on whatever will use that land. I can't think of any other reason they'd close the ride before the end of the season.

Why? Marketing only ever said today would be a major announcement. Not the full 2015 announcement.

In the prior post with the news article it even says more 2015 plans will be released at a later date.

Having grown up at the other park on the other lake, it's nice to see Matt and company learned not to yank stuff without giving warning.

Maybe they need to make modifications that would require an extra 2 weeks to ensure completion by opening day 2015? I know there's more to this announcement, this was just something to get us talking.

I think whatever is happening, a rename or something totally new, Rougarou is coming to that space. It's the best swampy area they've got.

Wow, are people here trying to say that Cedar Point removing Mantis isn't major? Because I sure think it is indeed a major announcement. Seems to me that mantis will be demo'd, not re-painted or new trains, but rather bye bye.

Personally.....I LOVE the way they are "announcing" this stuff! Now I can't wait till 10.19.14!! (or later.....)
