New for 2015

While I think (and hope) you are way off base with regards to Mine Ride, you may be correct regarding the name.

I know many have been quick to state that it will be a new haunt of some kind (Rougarou), but if you scan Cedar Fair trademarks, you don't see any names of haunts, so it would be rather unique of them to trademark the name of a new one.

Which leads me to speculate that wherever this "Rougarou" is headed, it will be a ride of some kind.

And it is odd to pronounce and spel.

I was wondering why the park called it "camp rou" for the campout last night.

Well that's interesting to say the least.

A coaster-campout dubbed "camp rou", which just happens to be based off a new trademark that is hard to spell and say.

We may be looking at the theming of a new haunt. After all, a camping/ werewolf theme may take the place of Carnevil, in the expanded Camp Snoopy. Maybe then Carnevil or Happy Jack's will be put in the new Gatekeeper building. I don't know, but my guess is a werewolf themed haunt. :)

I totally agree that is a possibility, but why trademark it? That is what is different about this name being used for a Haunt. If that is the case, this is the first trademarked haunt in the entire Cedar Fair chain as far as I can see.

Hmmm... You're right. That is strange. Maybe it will be the theme of an intense indoor ride like the old Tomb Raider at Kings Island. At this point man, I'm just ready to be surprised. Expect the unexpected.:)

I've always wanted us to get an S&S Screaming Squirrel (a massive one!) To replace the void left in my heart by wildcat.

Swapping out cedar Creek mine ride for a legitimate mine themed coaster (aquatrax style) would be awesome as well.

The whole rougaroo Swamp themed idea would also be an excellent idea!

However the proposed area (where the point Pavillion is) doesn't really match that idea or theme.

B&M doesn't have any new prototypes on their website.. and they are more about quality than innovation anyway.

Is it a known fact that B&M has the coaster contract now much like intamin had? Or was the gatekeeper a one time thing.

What if Mine Ride gets scrapped, but we see a newer version take its place? It would be like Mystery Mine at Dollywood. The whole family could ride, and it would e thrilling. A werewolf hunt would be a good theming, eapicially in that swampy-lagoon area!

Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......

Is it known that such an exclusivity or guaranteed purchase contract exists? It's only ever mentioned as enthusiasts' rumors.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Mine Ride to be taken out?

I think we're all gonna be surprised, happy, excited, etc etc about 2015's upgrade! A thrill-ride aimed towards teens and other hardcore thrillsters is the plan according to CP.... remember that means it's not aimed towards children, which IMO would rule out a Dark-Ride, family coaster, only leaving the possibility for a new flat-ride/coaster! IMO CP does not need another flat-ride, they just added 3 new ones in 2014, which brings their total to 6 in the last 10 years if my calculation is right. Unless you count all of the Challenge park additions!... CP has only built 2 coasters since 2003 and both were unique coasters with different elements, but not built for heights. I think the new ride will be constructed by a surprise manufacturer IMO and will not be a woodie or flat-ride! Sounds crazy but if CP still cares about the record of being the first to build 200', 300', 400' and possibly 500' coaster then it would have to be this year with that Polar Coaster being set to debut in 2016! Sounds crazy but definitely fitting to the secretive hints and way CP does things, based on history! Maybe I'm wrong I dunno, but who cares it's all just speculation for fun! I do believe that I solved the riddle and in 2015 CP will welcome Rougarou to the family!

No. But sadly, I think its on the cutting board list.:(

Who says? I would be very surprised to see MR go anytime soon.

Whatever is coming for 2015, it's going to be were the point pavilion is. That area is full of utility and surve markings. A eurofighter coaster would fit perfectly in that location.

I was under the impression that they already announced the new haunts last night:

Tombstone Terror-Tory and Hex Haunted House...yes?

It was a Coaster-Campout.

It was named Camp Rou.

Rougarou is trademarked, and we're getting a thrill ride next year.

Cedar Fair does not see a need to trademark it's haunt names (yet).

I'd say it's pretty clear "Rougarou" (hard to spell and pronounce) is not the name of a haunt, but rather the new ride that's coming.

Of course, what that ride is is a complete mystery.

Stop suggesting we are getting a coaster next year. It's not going to happen. It's going to be some thrill ride. Maybe for 2016 a coaster but I still say that is doubtful.

Wait, did I miss something? When did Cedar Point announce that? The only clue that I only recognized was during the off season Chill Out when Tony said something along the lines of we don't wanna miss next winter's off season tour. And I took that with a grain of salt.

Who's suggesting we are getting a coaster? Saying it's not going to happen (when you don't know) is just as extreme as saying it is going to happen.

People are just tossing out ideas as far as I can see. We have zero evidence (aside from the words thrill ride) to indicate to us exactly what type of ride it will be.

I was merely pointing out the plausibility of Rougarou being the name.
