My thoughts and prayres go out to Mr. Scott and his family. I never knew Mr. Scott, I only talked to him on the forums because I didn't know what he was like, but he always seemed like a nice guy. I wish I would have IMed him. I feel bad too in a way because I got the e-mail to send a contribution to him, but never did. I didn't have the money to, otherwise I would have. Mr. Scott you will be deeply missed. I feel guilty that we never talked as much online, but I'm sure you'll know who I am someday. I'm sure you'll be walking the Midway again, just not in visable form. God Bless You and Rest In Peace.
Though I never spoke to MrScott, even on the forums here, I've been reading his posts for quite some time, probably a year or two. I don't mean to repeat what has already been stated many times by other people, but I'll miss reading his input.
Unfortunately I can't contribute to getting him a seat on Maverick, but if you could do that, I think it would be one of the nicest gestures I've ever heard of. I'm sure you can do it.
My condolences to the family.
It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.
I like the Maverick Idea almost as much as the Lighthouse Point memorial, it really doesnt matter which becomes a reality to me just as long as we can do something together as a community to remember one of our own. I sent my contribution to this matter, Thanks all of you for your kind gestures for a man we all knew as MrScott.

I am both impressed and taken back at this community's reaction to this unfortunate event. I am very happy that all of us got to know Scott-- whether through posts, online or in real life.
Like many people have said, I feel as though he has done so much for us, and now's our chance to do something for him. Whether that be by contributing to the Maverick seat auction, keeping this thread alive with memories or praying for his family.
I previously mentioned his radio shout-out to me several years ago, and I thought I'd
post it for anyone who would like to hear it. It's proof of his kindness and ability to make anyone's day.
What a great person he was! *** Edited 4/25/2007 3:58:32 AM UTC by ST_Kara***

Rest in peace Scott. Troy, hang in there. I came very close to losing my brother years ago and it tore me up. I'm still not the same. I can't even imagine what you and your family must be going through losing a brother and a son so young like this. Take care of yourself and each other and remember all the good times you had with him. Let this be a reminder to everyone here to live each day to the fullest and let your loved ones know that you love them. Like the James Taylor song goes "shower the people you love with love and show them the way you feel"
I'm still working on the logistics, but we'll officially make the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross the designated charity, via the Maverick VIP ride auction.
Donations received so far total $200. We'll accept donations until the evening of May 8, after which the bid will be placed.
(Donation link has been removed. Thank you to all who contributed!)

Keep us posted, Walt. I already made a donation, but I'd be willing to try to chip in more if the amount comes up short for a seat.
In any event, I'm sure Scott would have appreciated the gesture, and even if a seat doesn't come through, donating to the Firelands Red Cross would be something he'd approve.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
Yeah Walt, if you need some more just keep us updated.

Ride on, MrScott!
I'll post periodic updates as needed. Since my last post, donations have increased to a total of $290.
With the amount growing, I think I should build in some transparency. I don't know if it's necessarily a good idea to post contributors and amounts here in the forums, but I will pick ST_Kara, OldCPer, Loopy, and JuggaLotus as "trustees," so to speak, and keep them in the loop on contributors.
