It sounds like he was an even nicer man than most of us at Pointbuzz probably knew.

Troy,
Your family has my deepest condolences for the loss of Mr. Scott.
If you think it is appropriate, I'd like to volunteer the use of my boat for you to spread his ashes in Sandusky Bay. My boat is docked at the CP Marina, and I can take you right in front of Maverick if you like.
If you are interested, please send me a private message and we will make arrangements.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Might I suggest we donate the money to Firelands and get Mr.Scott a seat on the first train of Maverick? I don't know if the park would allow it, but it would be something to look into.
Goodbye MrScott
John
It sounds like Troy would need to be present for that, but if he's available May 12, I don't see why we couldn't do that.

I guess I should check in more often. This is, indeed, very sad news, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Scott. I will think of him every time I got to CP or MiA.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

I think that's a good idea. If we go that route, it will be more feasible, and perhaps more meaningful, if that seat merely remained empty. The subtleness would be appropriate.
I actually like the idea of leaving the seat empty. Not only will the money go to a good cause, it'd be a very meaningful tribute to MrScott.
I've sent you my donation Walt.
That was my idea. Get him the seat and leave it empty. That's why I wasn't sure the park would be ok with it, but I'm sure if we tell them ahead of time why, they would be.
Goodbye MrScott
John
We have lost one of our beloved PointBuzzer and a friend through this blog. Please do your best people to somehow do a tribute to MrScott whether a donation or a simple R.I.P. in your signature.
We will remember!

Yeah, I would say we leave the seat empty, but if Cedar Point doesn't allow it, maybe Troy will volunteer to ride and Scott will be right next to him spiritually.

The train won't be empty, but we can buy one seat for Scott. Its whether they will allow it to go with an empty seat, but if we've "bought" it by donating to Firelands, I don't see why we couldn't say that the seat was for Scott and he passed before he could ride.
Goodbye MrScott

I meant to type seat :)
I am deeply saddened by MrScott's passing. His posts would put a smile to anyones face, as they were intelligent with a touch of humor and quirkiness. My sympathies go out to his family, especially to his mother as we all know a mother's worst nightmare is to witness the death of her child. Reading through this thread shows that MrScott has certainly touched all of us on this board, and I can only imagine the impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Hail to the Victors
I'm sorry to hear of Mr. Scott's passing. We were going to try and meet up at MIA this summer. We may have a few relatives in common a few degrees away from each other and were going to compare notes so to speak.
The next round of drinks at Famous Dave's is in salute to Mr. Scott,
anyone with me on opening day?
I really like the idea of getting a seat for him.

I'm guessing Mr. Scott would be moved by the gesture. I know that if it were me, I would love it.

I would contribute to buying him a seat on Maverick. I think he'd love the idea, and I think Cedar Point would respect the idea of leaving the seat empty, since we are still paying for the seat.

I would also like to share my condolences, and say that this is extremely depressing news. I do think that the idea of buying him a seat on Maverick is excellent.
