Yes, I was kidding about selling Dragster, although I would honestly not be at all sad to see it go. Can we trade Knott's for Xcelerator? Please? Pretty Please?
Gee, I hope I can wear my glasses WITH A STRAP on this ride if CP brings that ride here! LOL
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
I'll handcuff myself to the track if they decide to take out TTD.
I wonder if CF is liking this right now? A secret sale that no one is susposed to know about or "they had to find out somehow" type deal.
Most likly this is for GL but CP does have a few candidates.

I would be right there with ya.
If they were selling a "coaster", I would hope it would be wild cat or something. If it was a Water Ride, I wouldn't mind WWL out of there either.

The El Paso reporter told me in an e-mail that he understands there is another Cedar Point (Fair) amusement park in the vicinity and that it might have been that one.
This makes sense, as there is already the thread about geauga lake removing a classic ride at the end of the year.

I e-mailed him earlier today as well and in his reply to me, he said that the mayor had said they were looking at a coaster in Cleveland and that the amusement operator in El Paso named Cedar Point as the amusement park selling the coaster. I could see how the mayor wouldn't know exactly where the park was. However, the park owner in El Paso should know the difference between CP the park, and CF the company, right?

It does make sense for the piece of capacity s... I mean Wildcat to be banished to El Paso and CP to get a new spinning wildmouse.
I also think they were talking about GL.

Given the construction markings, CCMR wouldn't surprise me at all.
What "construction markings" are these? I spent a few minutes walking around FTT tonight looking for these marks and there was nothing signifigant enough to catch my eye.
The kids are convinced we're getting a new 500 footer coaster because they saw a couple lines of spray paint a few weeks ago.
I would be so pissed off I would never return to CP if Dragster left. Anyway, it must be CP, since the article also reffered to it as "Roller coaster Capital of America".
I know they got it wrong but you know what they meant.

Steps to light up internet message boards.
1. Buy various weird colors of spraypaint.
2.Secretly stake out spots that are only visible to webcam watchers and nosy enthusiasts.
3. On spots spraypaint a line and write "support #(insert number)- New 20,000 ft floorless flier- B&M"
4. Sit back and enjoy the insanity and 1000 post threads. ;) *** Edited 8/9/2005 2:28:27 AM UTC by Fastball84***
Let's just start to put the pieces together:
1) Markings found around the Mine Ride
2) Rumors for over 2 years about a new ride going in Frontier Land
3) An article saying a RC at CP is for sale
Hmmm.
Then we can think about the coasters.
First, the "no ways": Dragster, Magnum, MF, WT, Mantis, Raptor, Gemini, Jr. Gemini, Woodstock Express, Blue Streak
Then, the "Please God choose this one": Mean Streak
Then the likely candidates: Mine Ride (see above), Corkscrew (although doubtful because of its "picturesque status"), Wildcat (again, doubtful...it takes up no room, and can be bought at any state fair), Disaster Transport, Iron Dragon.
Out of all the "likely candidates", 3 rise to the top, in the following order, in my opinion:
1. Mine Ride (no upkeep the past few seasons, and the markings)
2. Disaster Transport (I dont think I need to make any comments as to why this is a possibility)
3. Iron Dragon (Doubtful, though, due to its new paint job, and its the only ride ofr its kind at CP).
So....I vote for Mine Ride.
:)
With all this talk from people about a new 500 footer, or a floorless or flyer in FT, do you think CP would pick up WildCat and replace it just for laughs? I mean it would be quite comical and all the rumors would make a good cover. Hmmm....
As for the removing of the rides, if it was for sale, and didn't get sold...do you think it would end up on EBay? I mean sure not to many of us could afford it but what if we pooled our money? Great. But then the placement issue arises. I offer my backyard if anybody else is game. :) But yeah, saying it was in or near cleveland could mean a few things. It could be Geauga Lake. He could have flown into the airport in Cleveland. Or he confused Cedar Point with Cedar Fair.
I can't see a CP coaster being sold though. At least not straight from the park. Maybe removed, then sold after some storage time. I haven't been there a whole lot this year. Has anyone seen a "For Sale" sign stuck to a support, track piece, or big ugly building?
"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"
Unfortunately, I think that Geauga Lake is the most likely candidate.
If the reporter didn't mess up, I'm definitely going with either WWL or CCMR. WWL because this paper doesn't seem too coaster-smart, and it would fit with the markings/satellite photo that someone had a couple weeks ago. CCMR because maybe the paper is coaster smart, but that still fits the description.
