I think concept pictures doesn't do this ride justice, once built I think it's gonna be massive and a great ride when Valravn opens!
I agree, I don't think the renderings make it look 200+ft.
2018- Raptor

Exactly! Valravn will be taller than Magnum and stopping on the top edge, looking straight down for three to five seconds will be terribly exciting!
It is exhilarating to experience the hang. What many may not be thinking of is the slow turn and approach to the brake as well. It's not an "element" per se, but it's a neat feature of dive coasters. That is, you get a good chunk of time after the lift hill to take in your surroundings from that peak height as you make your way to the drop.
Promoter of fog.
Anyone that wanted Power Tower to "do more" would like this ride. They drop from almost the same height.
What the park is missing is a good photo location from these high points.
Now that there will be a new walkway constructed to Bluestreak, the two paths running below Raptor from the main midway can be taken out. 😉
Which two paths are you talking about? To get to Blue Streak now you go past Chickie's and Pete's by going under Raptor but I can't imagine they would close that off. The only other path I can think of to Blue Streak is the little short cut between Cedar Downs and the food stand weaving between the tables. I can't imagine any reason to block either of these if they are the ones you mean.
It was a joke in reference to everyone complaining that the Bluestreak Midway was a dead end for years. Would be funny to see the new path along Valravn opened up, but then the two walkways under Raptor removed to keep it a one way in and out area.
One thing I'm not going to care for is getting stuck in the middle of a row. Seems like it will be much more difficult to get a seat that I really want.
The good news is the new restraints should help with that. If you've ridden Rougarou in the middle seats, you know that you are elbow-to-elbow with your neighbors. The vest restraints provide a bit more separation.

Removing those paths would be redundant. You can't use that space for anything else.
Redundant doesn't mean what you think it means. The absence of something can't be redundant.

The paths might be rendered redundant, and said redundant paths might be removed. However, that is not what was said initially.
It's not the proximity to others I'm concerned with, it's the possibility of not really having much of a view if stuck in the middle of the second or third row other than heads. I have a feeling I will probably end up sticking with Gatekeeper.
Although I can not speak for all Dive Coasters, I know Griffon utilizes stadium style seating to improve sight-lines. I assume Valravn will be similar in this aspect.
From the Press Release: http://valravn.cedarpoint.com/tales-of-valravn/press-release
Riders will sit eight-across on one of three, 24-passenger floorless trains, featuring tiered seating as well as comfortable over-the-shoulder restraints with interlocking seatbelts, much like those on the park’s GateKeeper wing coaster.
Can someone please explain the rational behind why there's more space between the second and third rows as opposed to between the first and second rows?
I would imagine it's similar to the way the inverts are - it's a trailered train, but the first 2 rows actually make up "one car".
I could be totally off base, but I'm sure it's got something to do with it.
