Looking at the photos, especially the employee bridge, got me thinking.
Thunder canyon sits lifeguards through-out the ride. Will there be lifeguards on the island part of the ride, because it may take a while for an employee to get over there if a problem occurs...
Safety First?
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Unlike Thunder Canyon, the passengers will be securely fastened into the "boat". So lifeguards probably won't be necessary.
1.Raptor 2.Maverick 3.SV 3.MF 4.Rougarou 5.GK 6.Valravn 7.BS 8.WT 9.Gemini 10.CCMR 11.Magnum 12.TTD 13.CS 15.WE 16.ID
They make it sound like the bridge will be for employees to get on the island "if necessary", not on a routine schedule.
3 weeks until spring?!

As securely fastened as an Intamin restraint can be anyway. ;)

From the latest construction pics:
Employees will use this bridge to cross over to the island when necessary.

I went back and was looking at some information and they are talking about all kinds of special effects, including water bombs. If the tunnel has some good effects, there is some fighting/shooting going on, on the island, a few water bombs, a waterfall, and a fun second drop, I think this ride is going to be awesome.
At what point in the countdown does the anguish of missing the park turn into excitement?! Even now, with "only" 74 days left, it feels like an eternity!
In a pic of the island "pond" (5th image), plumbing of some sort is evident (along the CCMR side), suggesting some sort of feature(s) will exist there.

Hopefully it is for the aforementioned water bombs. I love the bombs on Maverick, I think something small like that going off would fit right in on STR.
Especially if they're actually timed with an animatronic battle. Cannons on one side followed by water bombs on the other would really help sell this ride as an experience rather than just a lazy float on the island.

I really like that idea. They have the foundation for a really fun ride, lets hope they don't skimp out too much.
Let's see, I'll write an equation:
Employee bridge + Millennium island access + employees + dorm stories/rumors = pure chaos......
Anyway, it would be cool if the bridge was like SRF's bridge and the public will get wet in a splashdown from the boats....:)

Yep, that would certainly be a very neat addition.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
Hmm 74 days till opening day, wonder if STR will be open,to me a lot is yet to be done, guess will wait and see.
Does anyone remember if Paddlewheel Excursions opens with the park on opening day or does it open later in the season? I just remember it closing early for Terror Island.
^^Just think, Intimidator 305 hasn't began testing yet and they only have a month to go. A lot gets dont in the last couple weeks, you would be suprised.
Let's Get Weird.
That's a good point, Zach. Just think of it. Here it is, March already, and they haven't even removed and replaced a problematic section of track yet.
