Cedar Point Announces New Water Ride for 2010 Season

So what's this surprise they have waiting up their sleeves for STR? (per the OnPoint blog...)

Any ideas? Perhaps an interactive "soak the riders" deck?

Maybe water cannons or bombs that guests, not riding, can pay a quarter and shoot the people riding. Like the ones at Kings Island. People love those. Me and my cousin probably spent 20 bucks shooting people last summer.

I can confirm the $20 spent at those water cannons, and i enjoy those so much. They are amazing, and Cedar Point needs them. I don't think they would be too expensive to install...

They could just bring the water cannons that they had at geauga lake.

It is a good way for them to make some extra money, but I don't care for them. We rode the log flume at kings dominium with my daughter(4yo) last summer, and she got sprayed right in the face by one. Needless to say, she was in tears after getting hit in the face.

I think those guns suck. Personally I do not like getting sprayed right in the face but it is even worse for little kids. And if this is supposed to be a family ride how do you think the grandmas are going to react to getting a direct shot right in the face?

Now if they offered a way for the people on the ride to fight back that might make it a little more tolerable to me.

I think there are a whole lot more hypothetical grandmas than actual grandmas who will be riding this thing.

The ones at Geauga Lake shot pretty much straight up into the air, did they not? They weren't aimed at the face. I'm sure a park wouldn't get away with using 25 cent Super Soakers. ;)

What happened today? They capped off the second hill around noon, and then they took it off. What the heck? They had a guy on the land portion ready to weld and everything. Can anyone give me some insight on why in the world they would do this?

Was it too close to lunch time and they had to stop? ;)

Due to economic concerns, the ride has been cancelled and deconstruction begins today.

I wasn't talking about water guns that had lots of force and you can shoot people in the face. I was talking about water cannons like the ones at Kings Island. They are angled right, so it shoots in the air, and if timed right, the water will land on the boat/raft.

It obviously means you're doing something you're not supposed to, like leaning over the outside of the boat.

My daughter was sitting in the boat...no leaning out..just sitting there. She got blasted in the face. Does that make her a moron?

How do you get blasted in the face by a cannon that shoots straight up or mostly straight up into the air? That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

The cannons shot straight into the boats like a super soaker.There was no way to avoid it.

Where? Give me the name of this ride and the park it is at, and I will make sure that this place gets this crap removed.
