Cedar Point Announces New Water Ride for 2010 Season

Well obviously not, because your grammar sucks ass.

IF this ride gets you as wet as the animation shows. You won't see me in line. Theres nothing worse then chafing while at the park.

Alright guys and gals, let's lay off Eric. By his profile he's 36 years of age and is obviously slow. I apologize.

Birthday: 12/4/1972

EDIT: To make sure everyone knew how much sarcasm was in this post. If there was any more it would be spewing from your speakers right now.

Seems to me that this ride is aimed at trying to broaden CP's horizons/appeal. And I think the biggest reason for doing that is the reality that the park draws the vast majority of its visitors from a region that is not growing in terms of population. Facing that, you need to find ways to get other folks into the park. The coaster fans (myself included) are already coming in large numbers to the park.

As to theming, I hope they go to town on theming such that they won't want to use any for other rides for a while. I have never been a fan of theming. One, CP is not a theme park; its an amusement park. Two, I see theming as a way of covering up mediocre rides. I would much rather see whatever money put into theming go into making the actual ride itself better. To me, no more than 1-2% of a ride's budget should be spent on theming.

I haven't ridden a water ride outside of a water park in at least 25 years. So I have pretty much no interest in riding this new one. To the extent it pulls guests away from other rides that I like, I am all for it. And to the extent its a ride that appeals to folks who are not coaster/big time thrill ride riders, I can understand why CP is building it.

You know what i wish i could say what i really wanna say but i don't wanna get banned from this site go and take your little comments and go somewhere else!!!!

Listen, Eric can certainly feel upset about his not being a coaster and there are lots of others who might feel the same way. His grammar is no crappier than anyone else in his demographic. If you don't like what he has to say then make an argument as I have tried to do. If he doesn't accept your premise then so be it.

To fanatics point above, I agree that I don't like to be soaked in the park. I will ride Thunder Canyon if I'm getting ready to leave the park and go to the hotel. But, I might not mind it as much if TC had chlorinated water, filtered water. I hate smelling like the lake.

Cheif Wahoo, I think you've forgotten that you were once a kid. Let it be.

I thought I was being pretty measured in my response. I was telling people to argue his ideas...not his grammar. I'm not the grammar police. That is a job for someone else.

Unlike some people out there I am REALLY excited for this water ride. Its gonna be a long ride where you get soaked and its not lakewater!

Its gonna be awesome, and it made my day!

It looks like it will be a pretty good addition. I Hope they will make the waterfall not splash. Just have a little water getting you splashed. I really want to know how the station is configured. Does the boat not stop and go slowly through the station or will stop. I wonder if this atttraction takes uo all the island in between.

^^^ Agreed. Back on topic though, I just dont get this ride. I dont think this can compare to WWL. How long was that ride? Longer than three minutes. It seemed a little more personal too. Four people to a boat, just floating along. To me, this ride looks like SRF with a second drop.

There will be on-ride photo. Station is dual-loading, non-moving platform, much like Maverick.

I'm just trying to figure out why some people are arguing the fact that it should have been a coaster? If it was your park, then you can build all the coasters you want. I understand disappointment, but some are taking it wayyyyyy too far.

Again, just my .02.

Jenn

I'm not argueing it should have been a coaster. I just think 10.5 Million could have been spent to make the ride a little more interesting.

Loopy do you interpret "non moving platform" to mean the boats will not be moving as well or that, like pilgrims plunge, the platform is still as the boats continue to move. If the boats are stopped how will they prevent boats from piling up outside the station in the odd case that there is an issue getting a boat loaded in time?

Is he threatening people now?

Realmadrid, I'm sure they have brakes and blocks. My guess is that the boats will be on track inside the station but even if they aren't there's stops that work under water.
