2007 New Employees

So if my ending date needs to be changed because of schooling I should sign the contract, they can change that later when I find out. is this correct.
Should I call or write an email to steve for other questions?

If you know the dates your school starts on, I would call your manager and get the contract changed.

Its harder once you get there to get your dates changed.

When do you process in?

What time should i arrive on this day?

Where do we go and what exactly happens on that day?

I looked at the walk through on the cp jobs website but its still confusing. Im not living at cp and it seems like thats what that walk through was for.

You should plan to arrive around 9ish on the day you process in. Go to human Resources which is right by the marina enterance. Just ask for directions at the toll booth. From Human Resources they will direct you where you need to go in order to get all that you need to.

If it is for school, they wont have a problem changing it anytime during the summer as long as they can look it up.

My schools starts Aug. 20th I just dont know when the orientation is beacuse they have not released the date yet. By the way how long does it take to process in from start to finish?

I know in rides last year I got there at about 830 and didnt get done with everything until abou 130. But that was for the rides department and they have training videos and other things that they do so it depends on the department.

I got another question: If I am working flat rides what kinda shoes do I need? I saw where they could deduct them from your paycheck but I figured it would be cheaper if I bought them before I got there.

Question about bonus: I thought I was told on the phone that Id be making a $500 bonus. Is that the .50 an hour bonus or is the $500 not including the .50 an hour bonus? Ill be staying the whole 6 months so I dont know if that makes a difference or not.

Thanks!

If you're there the whole 6 months, I'd imagine you'll make about $500 in bonus, though that's probably before taxes (at the $.50 level). I know people last season who were there the entire time were upwards of $1000, so that's about right.

The shoes are a matter of preference. They have to be all-white (or almost all-white). The CP wardrobe does sell shoes for about $30. Some people absolutely hated them, but I never had a problem, other than that they were just about completely worn out by the end of the summer (and my summers end in early August). Bring changes of socks with you and get shoes that fit, and you'll be fine.

For flat rides especially you want comfortable shoes as you will be doing more walking around the ride area than someone on a coaster. On maXair I know every cycle you would have to go around the entire ride area once, sometimes twice depending on what the guests are doing...

I just got hired in Park Admissions, anyone else doing this or know what it's like? I wanted to work in Ride Operations, but wasn't able to because of the days I could work.

Park Admissions is a decent place to work... do you know where within the park admissions dept you are working? That would make it easier to describe how it works... Get ready for some good drama filled times ahead!!!

I just got hired at Cedar Point as a Ride Host for Gemini.

PAINTERVISION
Tilapia Studios - Answering the question, "What do you do in Sandusky in Winter?"

I'll be working in Park Admissions. I'm returning from last season even though I only worked Halloweekends. If anyone has ANY questions about Park Admissions, Rides, Cedar Fair just let me know. This will be my 3rd Season working for Cedar Fair. 2 years at Geauga Lake in Rides, and 1 year up at Cedar Point in Park Admissions.

I tend to get around a lot, and I know a lot of people within the company so, if anyone has questions, like I said just look up my contact info and drop me a line. Usually I'm not on here so the easiest way is to e-mail me. (eoravec@yahoo.com)

As for the question of Park Admissions, it's a very fun job, it was way different than working rides, and in a way I enjoyed it a bit more. You'll have drama no matter where you work, but be prepared for a lot of different things. You'll learn cashiering as well, so be prepared to deal with money.
Theres a chance you could end up staying at one gate, or one position for a while, or you could move from gate to gate, or gate to cashier. Like I said be prepared for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, as an admissions host you are generally the first person the guests see coming in, and the last person the guests see when they leave. You should hold yourself to a bit higher standard then everyone else, not saying you're better than them, just that you are one of the people who could Make or break a guests experience. They could come out the gate in the worst of moods, but by you smiling, being courteous, and just being the last person they see, could make their day.

I would believe they have a dish machine, because I would hate to wash all of those dishes by hand lol.
