Janelle,
Not sure how it works corporate wide, but at the TGIF's I work at, we use a machine.

Janelle,
Its not going to be a dishwasher like you have at home. It'll be an industrial one that is probably a conveyor. (I can't imagine a Friday's getting away with the one rack at a time washer). You'll load a bunch of dishes onto a rack, start it into the machine and it will get pulled through. Then when its done (about 2 minutes later), you put away the dishes.
They actually aren't too bad. But water does have a tendency to mist everywhere.

I'm sure it's like doing dishes at most other restaurants. I would hate doing dishes for that long, I can barely stand doing them once every other week here at school in the gross dishroom. Janelle, whoever you are, you should use better grammar. I don't know but your high school must not be very good. But I guess if that's the case then I went to the wrong school. Oh that's right I was in your class! Can't wait to work with you this summer ;)

I just applied this week, and I got the email about setting an interview. However, the number they sent me, 1-866-668-JOBS, did not work at all. I already emailed them about this, but did anybody else have this problem?

Call the office and just explain your issue. They'll be able to help you there. I called when I had a problem and they interviewed me right on the spot.

Yeah, that probably is the problem, :-). Thanks though, I'll probably wait for the email reply, in case they want me to do something different. I'm surprised that I got my application reviewed so fast, O_O. I sent it in at 1am and it was reviewed at 10am.

I did mine online an hour before i went to the interviews in January i think or the beginning of February and i got interviewed and a week later they offered me the job.
On your last day of work are you free to leave after your shift or do you have to process out, if so how long does that take?
Also my schools band is comming June 7th and 8th, I was just wondering if I should ask off for one of these days because I want to spend a few hours with some of my freinds or should I just wait and ask for a short shift (I'm guessing your team leader makes the scheduals). Are you allowed to give away hours or trade with someone?
JPS.....From what I recall, most people process out the following day of their final shift. I think you have 24 hours to vacate your room, and complete processing out. I don't really remember that process from 5 years ago.
As far as visiting with your band friends. I would say the answer depends on your start date. If you are starting at the very beggining of May, I would think your TL won't have a problem giving you one of those days off. However, getting two days off in a row might be a problem.
If you start at the end of end of May, beginning of June, you might have a little more trouble getting either of those days off.
The point is you need you to establish credibility with your Team Leader by being on time to work and showing up when your supposed to show up, and working hard.
If you ask for days off after you just start, that might not look so good. You may be able to find someone to cover your shift, but early in the season, some crews are short handed, and people aren't as likely to pick up an extra shift due to being tired, or they are using their days off to enjoy the park.
Good Luck, and have a great season. You'll have a blast!

About having a fridge in employee housing(non apt style) is there a certain max size allowed? Is it just those small cube ones or are you allowed to bring the counter high ones that are fridge/freezer combo's like in a college dorm? *** Edited 3/14/2007 2:37:17 AM UTC by Steve Zissou***
I don't remember them saying anything about a size limit on those things, but usually the medium sized Coleman refrigerators do the trick nicely.

If you'd like a certain day off during the week just let your tl (who in this case would be me :) lol) know and they'll try and work around it. Most ride locations have calendars or planners that crew members can put in requests if they have something going on that they'd need a certain day off for. Keep in mind though that you only get one day off a week (which the week starts Monday and goes through Sunday) and requests aren't gaurenteed depending on staffing and the number of people requesting certain days.

Well, I just had my interview, and boy was that nerve wrecking. Unfortunately, I forgot to request a ride to be assigned on, but I figure that won't matter since it wouldn't be guaranteed anyways and I could always ask for a transfer.
Did they tell anybody else that if you went to a certain school you "had" to work certain dates? (which were alot more than I applied for). Like, since I'm an OSU student I "had" to work from June 11 to Sept. 16, and weekends after that. It didn't matter to me anyways because I want to work, but it seemed kind of... forceful. *** Edited 3/14/2007 6:20:00 PM UTC by saishuu rei***

They do have to keep enough employees around to run HalloWeekends and the Bonus Weekend somehow...

I wouldn't mind it. Im only 17 now but I will be 18 before halloweekends start. Is there a way i could attempt to transfer and become a screamster?
Thanks for helping me on my question.
I dont have to be off for both those days I just want one day where I only work half the day so I could hang out with my freinds the other half. Just a few hours so I could ride some rides with them. Is it possible to work for half a day?
