I sent in my application last wednesday, and I got an email from food services today. That was my 3rd choice, but I put Ride host as 2nd (office clerk was 1, but knew I wouldn't get it anyway). The only person who looked at the application was Samantha Charles, and she said to email back a time to call. Would I still be considered to work in rides, and what do I tell her? Do I just wait for someone else to review it, Or should I just contact HR? I mean I would still work in food services if I had to, and I do have experience in it, but I don't want to keep working in food places for work experience (it would be my 3rd job in it)

They had a few issues with my availability so park operations didn't take my application. I called and asked what was up and Karrah interviewed me right then for ride host after I fixed the availability issue.
If you think there is a problem or just want to check up on it, then I would call. They're very friendly for having to hire so many people. *** Edited 2/27/2007 12:02:43 AM UTC by Gomez***

Rather then starting a new topic, I figured this would be closely related to new employee's to put in here. With the employee cafe, are there any real options for a vegetarian there? By vegetarian I mean such items as eggs/omelets for breakfast, veggie/black bean burgers or tofu for the salads etc? I know there are salads/fruit/pizza, things of that nature, but was hoping for a more specific idea of what is an option.
I know they do have options for vegetarian's. I am not sure what those options are though since I am not vegertarian. But every summer it seems that people always complain that there are not enough vegertarian options. So I guess its not that great of a selection.
Alright I have a couple more questions about this. So for being a ride host I have to work May 6th - Aug. 24th (summer off of MSU) , and every other weekend after that, at least thats what they told me. Do I really have to work those weekends after that (or start on that exact date)? I dont know how I would get there other than drive 3 hours there, and then back. Food service wants to interview me, but if I do an interview with them, can I still do one with park operations?
Oh and todays my birthday! (and tomorrow)

Pretty much every department will want you to work as many days as possible.
I drive 2 hours each weekend to get to CP from school and I know other people who drive more. You will probably be able to find other people to car-pool with, though, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I go to Central Michigan University, and I worked every other weekend last season. We had a carpool of three of us. We have a good 4+ hour drive to Sandusky. Weekends, despite the long drives, are a lot of fun. We worked Friday nights, O-C's on Saturdays, and we worked for a few hours on Sunday so we could get back to school.

I'm not a new employee, but I am new to this website. This will be my fourth season at CP, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm in merchandise, but I don't think many from merchandise post here. If there's anybody that does, drop me a line. Hope to see some of my co workers from last season. I was in the Pagoda gift shop, and I will be again this season.
Alright thanks, yeah I'm sure there will be some people here I could carpool with.

Then he has no birthday. At least not until next year.
Yeah and next year I'll be 5. I usually just celebrate it on the 28th but I just say it's tomorrow too.

I received my contract in the mail and I have a couple of questions.
1. Should I sign the contract even though I may have to change my ending date
2. I told Steve that I needed off June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd should this be on the contract or do they not put that info on the contract, just wondering to make sure I am off this weekend.
1. Would the change in processing out be as a result of schooling? If yes, then yes, sign it and return. They can take care of that later when you know the exact date. If not, then you might want to contact them. At least, that's what I was told.
2. I had the same issue, but was told they were on my employment docket. They're not put directly on your contract.

Hey so I put on my application that I would need a few days off of work this summer, but that I was unsure of the exact dates I was just wondering how I go about letting them know the days that I am taking off when I find out exactly what they are. Hopefully someone knows the answer?
On your application, you should have specified that you would need several days off and what they would be for. Then when you find out, you can call your hiring manager and get those exact dates put on your employment docket. Atleast, that's they way it worked for me.
