Last summer, a friend and I drove from Texas and processed in on May 31st. I was contracted to Gemini and he was to Skyhawk. Neither of us were put there. I ended up on Corkscrew, and he ended up on SkyRide (although they tried to put him at Wildcat right b4 that one). I loved working the ride Corkscrew, but didnt like many of my crew and they didnt seem to like each other either which didnt make it very fun. But the ride itself sometimes did help me enjoy it more! My attitude was great but the rest of the crew's wasnt. Thats never a fun place to be but dont let it scare anybody. That doesnt seem to be the case very often.
It really breaks my heart to read this. ESPECIALLY since I don't recall you being with your crew, or taking the time to get to know them. Of all my CP experience, this crew was one of the most bonded that I ever witnessed. To my recollection, Corkscrew had a great summer and some lasting and permanent friendships were formed. I know for a FACT that most of this crew still talks to one another. Supervisors were always telling us how bonded we all were and how you couldn't find one Corkscrew crew member without another. Yes, we had drama like all crews do, but I find it completely unfair for you to talk about the crew you knew practically nothing about.

Now come on... No need to diss an entire crew that you never took the time to get to know or hang out with. I don't ever recall seeing you at any of the crew outings. In fact I don't think I ever seen you smile!

Get in tight with your crew because you'll be with them for the entire summer and I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Corkscrew crew was pretty tight huh? Good, that's where I'll be next year. Yep, I'm another first timer. For someone who knows, what's ride-opping Corkscrew like?
I have been talking to my crew members through myspace and facebook. Kristy Jo, I would encourage you to do the same. They seem like a great bunch of guys and girls and I can't wait to work Raptor with them. I just hope I don't get moved.

Corkscrew is fast paced and fun! The unload side of the platform is where it's the most fun because you get to pop peddles to lock and release the shoulder restraints. The best of times are had when you race to pop peddles to see who can unlock the most the fastest. There are a certain few that can do the peddle dance hopping on 1 foot and popping the peddle with the other. It's fun! The only downfall is trying to hit interval with loose articles and the seatbelts as your obsticles. Who knows, maybe they modified the seatbelts for the upcoming season? We'll have to wait and see. As they are now you have to ask the guest to check it while you watch because you aren't allowed to touch it because of its position between the guests legs. And frankly with larger guests you wouldn't want to go there!!! And finally, once you learn controls always remember to bump up your train so you don't C-Set. It's an instant write up. It's pretty easy as long as you pay attention.
One other thing, the Corkscrew crew also runs Super Himalaya.

Word up, pedal-popping is where it's at! Corkscrew really is a great time...if you have a great crew, which I certainly did.

Of course you didnt see me at any crew outings. I was never invited. Neither was stephanie. None of my comments were about you or Audra and if you really want to get into it, you two talked so much trash about stephanie just because she was different. Yeah, way to be a tight crew and exclude a few people just because they are not like you so dont set here and blame this entire thing on me. I tried for weeks last year to fit in with that crew and got nothing but hatred and ppl that talked behind everyone elses backs and fronted as if they liked em. That was so stupid. Damn, Six Flags and Disney werent ever that bad.
So would it not be so offensive to you two if I said thats how it was in June? It may have gotten better in July/August. I wouldnt know. Several people had left by then and corkscrew got some different people. *** Edited 1/31/2007 10:39:45 AM UTC by zigg13pra***
......thats a good vibe i'm feeling from this board now.....some tension, some anger. is there really this much drama on some of the rides? also, how long after u turn in your application is it that you get the phone call?

I just would like to direct this reply to all the 2007 newbies. You shouldn't really take what you read on this board as 100% truth. Every story has two sides and some of what gets posted here is just that. Read all the comments in mind that what you make of your summer at Cedar Point is all about you. How good of job you do and how well you get along with you crew depends upon yourself.
And this little spat on board drama really relates to some of the other questions asked on here. Not every person assigned to a specific ride is meant to be at that ride. This could be for many reasons. One person mentioned above did in fact find her perfect ride and did a great job. Another found her place in another department. In my opinion it's not fair to spill one half of things that actually happened with the end result of dissing an entire crew that did a fantastic job with record numbers and awards.
You come to work at Cedar Point because you love the park, the atmosphere, the people and you end up taking pride in the park, you ride and yourself. No one who truly follows these guidelines really wants to hear everyday how much better it is at Six Flags.

Very well said Tyler, and that is the reason this man was promoted to Supervisor ladies and gentleman. Your crew is your family at Cedar Point, they are the people that you spend everyday with and will get to know the most out of anyone. If part of the milk goes sour, the rest is soon to follow (weird analogy).

Sad part is, I hardly talked about Six Flags at Cedar Point. I love all theme parks and understand that there needs to be all kinds of them in this world today for good business reasons...
Anyways, I was only merly stating my OPINION.. That was MINE and you two need to get over whatever I said instead of trying to be mean to me on these boards since it hurt your feelings.

Brock, I think I read, or was told, that it takes around 2 weeks before you get your contract in the mail, if that helps any.

That is correct! Usually. Depends on how fast the mail system wants to be! (my area is dreadfully slow, lol)

I agree with what Tyler told you. Doing things with your crew is not only fun but you get to know each other really well. Your TL Jen is one of my best friends and was also my TL last year when I was the ATL at Antique Cars. Our crew did a number of different things together like going bowling and stuff like that. It was so much fun. I know that the Dragster crew this year will do some really fun things together too so you should be sure to go with them when they do things. And hopefully Jen will include the Skyhawk crew too.
I can see lots of Dragster/Skyhawk crew outings this year. LOL!
