technically you can get into the park early, but you will probably want to sleep!
As far as waiting in lines, when you are not in uniform you get ZERO perks other than coming in for free, so yeah...waiting in line is a definite must.
Guests get angry when you don't wait in line and it puts a lot of people in bad positions (including yourself) when you line jump.
And you are probably going to spend a lot of your days off in the park. I know it sounds pretty lame, but there is nothing like taking a personal day to ride rides.
ps - employees park to the far right over by the space spiral and DT. first come first serve i guess....finding a spot up front is always a day brightener!

Or you can have a 12:00 or 3:00 shift in July and have to circle for 20 minutes to find anything closer than about row 33 aka next to Kinzel's house. The worst part though was going out into the parking lot 2 hours after the park has closed and your car is the only one out there and its all the way at the back of the lot :(
It's funny to watch people fight over parking spaces at times. I had one older couple that were really nice to me though when someone else was trying to steal a spot I was waiting for. They backed there car WAY up to block the other car from getting my spot. I love old people! (sometimes)

Old people in cars can be frustrating. Where I live they speed around the parking lots in the apartments, but go 5-10 mph under the speed limit out on the roads! But yeah, sometimes they can be nice when it comes to parking.
I may end up with my car there, mainly so on days that I have off I can trek down to Mansfield to visit some relatives. I may not drive to work too often even with it there.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
To answer you question JPS, Steve is the area manager for area 2 (the back of the park). Usually when he reviews applications, at least in my case, he will look at it, then call you in the next day or so, so I would expect to probably be hearing from him sometime in the next few days.

Interviews are usually between 15 and 20 minutes I would say. Its just the basic interview questions and talking about dates. If you miss his call, don't worry, you can always call him back and he will get back to you.

Hey everyone,
My name is chad... Newbie to cedar point employment. I submitted my application 2/10. Got back from class this morning and Steve wanted to do an over the phone interview...
He said my contract would come in the mail, but if I check online at the jobs.cedarpoint or whatever it is where I submitted my application, it gives me the option to accept my contract right away. Has anyone done this?
btw.. corkscrew team :-P

I finally got an e-mail today from a new person her name is Karrah Yerage. Anyone know who she is?
I believe Kerrah is the assistant manager of ride operations. Other than that, all I can say is just be patient. When I was hired this season it took over a week before i was contacted after somebody reviewed my app...
