Record-breaking Siren’s Curse tilt coaster to lure Cedar Point thrill seekers in 2025

Iron Dragon queue is going to be closer to Coasters based on the info given at Winter Chill Out. I don't think it'll congest the midway...the midway will be less congested without the stage.

Move Dippin Dots? That is a money maker and a big one! With all the people in that area, maybe they'll make it a two window operation.

We-o-we-oooo:

Its annoying that the rides with the two longest waits in the park can't be tackled using the time that is specifically designed to help with that

I do miss ye olden days (by which I mean late 2000's-early 2010's) when you could park in the Soak City lot at 9 a.m., take a spin on Maverick, get a swing on Skyhawk, and powerwalk through Fronteir Trail over to Millennium all within that hour. Once you got off MF, you could get in line for TTD just before the 10 a.m. rope drop. So right at the top of the day, you'd eliminated the longest lines, and everything else was gravy and we could move at a more relaxed pace. To use Ouimet's parlance, I had a number of "best day ever"s that began that way. [/wistful nostalgia]

Of course, these days, the idea of getting up at 7 to leave at 8 to get to the park by 9 doesn't sound that appealing, but it was nice having the option!

^As a "birdman", it would seem that you used to subscribe to the theory of the early bird gets the rides.

The "Cedar Point Nation" group/page/whatever on FB shared a video update yesterday for those that may be interested.

Track work is nearly complete. Everything is in place aside from the tunnel section and the second hill loop thingy. There is a sizeable building adjacent to the storage track, presumably a maintenance building. Asphalt paving on what used to be Perimeter Road is well underway.

That maintenance building is gigantic. I have to wonder if it serves an additional purpose as well. Hooters?

The maintenance building is to house all of the new hydraulic pumps. The pumps are dual purpose: as a sump pump for the Siren's curse tunnel to keep the water out (this ain't no water coaster), second to maintain proper flush pressure in the new restrooms (large obstructions expected). Most importantly, to ensure that there is no cross contamination from the new bathroom plumbing into the Siren's curse tunnel. ;)

I would imagine it makes sense, space permitting, to have a maintenance facility on site where they can rebuild trains rather than having to haul them off the peninsula or wherever.

^^We'll have to look out for the guy wearing the "First Flusher" tee shirt around the midways.

^^^ Do you think they will auction off the old toilets? A good opportunity to own a piece of park history, right in your own house.

Will he keep a running tally of "flush counts". By the end of season I flushed 130 times at the Sirens Curse restroom!

With all the new plumbing & lagoon maintenance there should be no clogging or overflows, or they will be forced to name that restroom "Flusher's Curse".

As someone who doesn’t know anything about construction is there a chance they can still hit the coastermania opening (June 6th). Tony said he expects it to be apart of that event but that was a couple months ago

I think the answer is Maybe? I have to imagine they have the track complete and are onto testing by opening day. I don't think anyone knows how much testing is required for the thing though. This isn't your typical coaster.

It's also not really that atypical. It has the nuance of the tilting mechanism, which introduces new sensors, brakes, and controls. But outside of that, it's pretty standard fare. I wouldn't assume that the tilt mechanism would drive substantially more testing than any other new roller coaster. I wouldn't be surprised if more testing gets done on TT2 (TT2.1?) than SC before their respective openings.

What about building the station? Won’t that take quite a while ?
