New for 2015

My thought is that CP is getting the same attraction as multiple Cedar Fair parks next season. Similar to when Windseeker was added a few years ago and that may be why we haven't gotten an announcement or many teases to a bigger announcement.

I'm sure whatever "thrill ride" is added that it will be fun but I'm not expecting a record breaking attraction.

CP has made many comments about the 2 year project at Breakers as the something to look forward to for 2015.

I also think it's quite possible that we won't get any official news until the Breaker project is closer to completion. The park will invite the media to see the Breakers improvements and then use the same media event to unveil whatever other plans are planned.

I do suspect that the new ride will be near Blue Streak and that section of the park will be upgraded.

It's also possible that in addition to the new "thrill ride aimed at teens" won't be the only new ride. Last year we got Flying Eagles and Pipe Scream along with Slingshot. Plus, they rehabbed Jr. Gemini, Froghopper and Lolly Swings. I could see Cedar Point refreshing Kiddie Kingdom or the area between All Wheels Extreme and Planet Snoopy.

I half hope now that they don't announce for 3 months and then it turns out to be interlocking Larson Super Loops to one-up Six Flags. And they market them as coasters. No other reason than it would make for excellent posts.

Do you think they might make the announcement at the halloweekends Party? They did hint at stuff at the campout.

Their marketing is failing then. I'm not visiting their website every day for the latest news. Or their Twitter. Or their Facebook, their blog, the park, anything.

The only place I am visiting everyday is... well... PointBuzz.

I'm sure Tony and the rest love the hype, heck I think it's fun. Will be interesting to see what they do with Mean Streak:

I think the announcement day will be october 2nd. If you look into dettail about the name rougarou (that is if the name rougarou were to be used), it is under a spell for 101 days. Well, the filing day was june 23, and 101 days after that is october 2nd.

We haven't even got the 2015 announcement, and I can't wait for the 2016 announcement.

Off topic, but Magic Mountain will be announcing the plans for Colossus shortly. Excited to see what the RMC treatment does for that ride.
