Then if they still open it after the Red Cross rescheduled, then they won't be the first riders and should demand their money back. Simple as.

So be it. If some moron who is DONATING to a charity cares more about some lame "first!!1!!!1!" accolade than doing something good for needy folks, then they can hit the bricks.

Or they've only let Red Cross know at this point so they can let those riders know as soon as possible (since they've paid extra money for the chance to be first) while the park crafts a formal press release for public distribution this afternoon.

The Red Cross is a shady organization anyway. Remember Katrina? Where did all that money go? Not to the Victims.

There are better charities that should be doing this first rider thing. You know, like a cancer fund or something for diabetes.

Come on man, the red cross saves a lot of lives and does a lot of good. Can we not make it about them?

Yeah, because they've done a bang-up job eradicating cancer with the billions they've received.

Red cross still is one of the best aid organizations out there and do far more for helping people in this country than just about any other group.

The CP home page says STR "Opening Soon". Has it always said that or did it say "May 29th" at one time?

I am pissed about StR being delayed. I'm pissed at Intamin, I'm pissed at CP a little, but the Red Cross? That's taking it a little far to say the least.

Nah, it's been like that for a while now. It still says in the StR section that it opens tommorow.

I'm not pissed at the Red Cross for the delay of STR. Clearly they have nothing to do with this. I am mad at them for their business practices.

Their business practices are fine. The Katrina thing was just a few bad apples that got an inappropriate amount of press, as is typical (in a Country where, as violent crime rates go down, coverage of them goes up). If you knew more about the story, you'd know that the RC did an internal investigation and has since began practices to limit this sort of thing in the future.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

@Evil: All and all I feel ya man, maybe you 'punched a whole through the wall' with the Red Cross bashing, but I see your point.

I think it's time to give someone else a crack at the next big coaster. When's the last time someone else built us a coaster? 1998? Lets chuck $20-$25 million at B&M and see what they can pump out. Worlds tallest dive machine? Diamondback on steroids? Those will fit right in at CP.

Things aren't all bad. I just heard on the radio that the rest area on Route 2 near Vermillion is reopening today after being closed for construction. You win some, you lose some.

I'm disappointed in the delay too. I think most are. I'd love to take a ride.

But there's a big difference between disappointment and ANGER.
