Well granted it has only been one week and it was no one there at all during the weekend. I like CarnEvil's new location. Terror Island was a little overrated. It could of been so much better, more fog and lighting. I bet it was a little harder getting electric back there, thus the reason they had cops on the floatable bridge pointing a flash light at the "drop off."

Fright Zone was the same in my opinion. That was all I did, I was too busy riding.

opening weekend in the rain wasnt an easy thing. It was pretty slick as im sure you all could imagine. plus like others have said it takes a while to build a character . they will only get better and better

They could build a dome over the point to stop the rain I guess.

Terror Island was light on fog and lights on Saturday night due to the rain. Electrical lines and standing water aren't a good mix.

i understand that the fog was light due to the weather and the screamsters need to define their character but when i went through 2 times and several people were way out of character it was not good. the mermaids were sitting on their rocks trying to decide what to do after work!! if you don't want to be there than dont!!. people are paying alot of money to go to this stuff and you have this nonsense. ok off that rant and to some good things. the pirate at the beginning swabbing the deck did a great job!! the cornstalkers screamsters got into it and was also great!! also the girl walking the midway with the rat was awesome!!

Those stinking mermaids! How dare they do that! I know that when I'm at work, I work non-stop, and never talk about after work plans or, heaven forbid, post in internet forums! ;)

Since people on here are all about boycotting, perhaps you should boycott the mermaids.

The mermaids are ride prides. I could always tie them up and make them hostages like I did with the others.... :)

As for other people being out of character, the veterans are trying to teach the newbies, and unfortunately that's something that you may see in the first week or two. It's a necessary process.

Which is exactly why we never go in the first couple weeks anymore. Things are not totally set up, people are out of character, and there are some slight but noticeable miscues in nearly every area. By the beginning of October, things really settle in.

Was there any damage done at CP? Power outrages? Here in Columbus we got blindsided by Ike big time.

My wife and I do the same. We avoid the first couple of weekends since there usually seems to be things not put up yet. We also appreciate the cooler weather that one experiences in October. At the same time I realize there is a significant amount of preparation required and time needed to get everything properly in place.

wow i guess you folks don't like critisism much. has anyone ever went to the movies and the actors were out of charector? it's only 4 hours to work as a screamster and on 2 different times through the same screamsters were talking about the same stuff!! i guess you are all happy to go the the park and accept people not doing their jobs. wow

Two screamsters should not make or break your experience at HalloWeekends, especially when those two mermaids don't even work for Cedar Point, they're just there fund raising. (I hate ride prides/fund raisers).

Movies are shot over the course of months and edited so you don't see people out of character.. It's alot different that trying to stay in character for 4 hours..

I challenge you to come work Halloweekends as a Screamster.. and see if your attitude changes..

ok have you ever been to a play than? dude you wouldn't want me as a screamster!! it would make the resy of y'all look so bad. i have a great sense of humor and getting reactions from people. that is the type of people you need to have as screamsters. however i have 3 kids and a job so i don't think it would work. i'm glad you think mediocre is ok but i would like better. i'm not perfect but i'm willing yo take creative critism. i find it humerous that you just react to the "bad" things i had to say but totally ignore the good things i talked about. if you want to learn about good characters take a look at the guy in carn-evil that giggles and roams around under signs. he is very good and did not see him out of character once!!and if you can't stay on task for 4 hours you have some issues!

You can borrow my Shift key if you need to, just let me know.

Movies and plays rehearse for week if not months before the main event. If I'm not mistaken Screamsters have a (singular) dress rehearsal the night before the first Halloweekend. Overall reactions from opening weekend seemed very positive. If it takes some of the new Screamsters a few days to get their character figured out and defined, so be it.

Here are my points about Halloweekends:

- it rained in the afternoon, so it was great having light crowds for me to go around without having to push my way through tons of crowds piled on top of each other.

- But there was enough midway/scare zone crowds to give it character for the screamsters to scare and act on.

- I thought the fog was thick enough and it really gave a bonus for riding MF over the island in that fog.

- And corn stalkers was WAY much better than werewolf canyon...:)
