Halloweekends...

yea guys as far as ride prides go its just what it is we cant change it. we do everything we can do to get them pumped and ready to go. I am not going to admit its hard for people to find a character. This is my first year and I was lucky my first idea worked. But just as anything its scary for people to try new things. Its a common fact it is and a screamster is a new thing to a lot of people. I love the constructive critizism its what needs to be said. But as stated before itll take time to get everything rolling just right. give us time and ideas and make this the best halloweekend ever.

thank you cp/pkidude for understanding where i was coming from. trying new things as a screamster is great. the only issue i had was that a couple i saw didn't seem to care about learning or trying. they just didn't seem to care. and that is all my point was

well pretty much all the TL's either read this site or know someone who does so I'm sure there not gonna let people just sit and do nothing because its there zone, its like there child almost. I know creepy sounding but true.

No one was crying about it, but it is a lot easier to read a post that has proper capitalization and punctuation. As for us "jumping down your throat," please realize that expressing a different opinion is not a personal attack on the original poster.

That aside, even though I have never worked as a screamster, I realize that it is harder than most people think it is. From my prior acting experience, both at the high school and college theatre level, I know how hard it can be to say in character for an extended time, and 4 hours is longer than one may imagine.

I am sorry that i answered the question that started this topic. I am sorry I did not capitalize or punctuate properly. There is nothing that cedar point could do to improve. I believe it is better than cats, i will see it again and again.Wait one minute if you can't say what can be improved how can you advance into a better entertainment experiance? Oh no i did it again, never mind that . Everything is perfect!!

One more thought. Have you ever caught a glimpse of Donald Duck without his head? How about Cinderella catching a smoke behind the castle? I didn't think so. By the way how is my shift key working? Wowzers i did it again!! Nevermind that last statement. Ceder point's halloweekends is perfect and I was privaleged to be able to be awed by it's flawless execution. Boy what is up with people not thinking it is perfect?

^ - yes, you answered the question and then others responded to it. Sorry we don't all agree with you. And I didn't see anyone defending the mermaids, but just offering the reason for why they may not have been on top of it.

Trust me, if you hang around here long enough, you'll see plenty of criticism of the park.

I never said it was perfect. I don't expect it to be perfect either. That is why a few out of character mermaids are no big deal to me. Sure they could have done better, but when i leave the park, I probably wouldn't give a second thought to them or their "out-of-characterness." If I felt that enough aspects of the event were unacceptable enough that I didn't get my money's worth, or that the event as a whole was below par, then I would be more apt to criticize.

And John is right...take some time and read back through some older posts...there is criticism a-plenty on here.

If anyone would have payed attention to what i said. I had a very good time and i was just expressing what i thought could have been better.

I was image searching Kinzel and a picture cameup of a Haunt gravestone in front of Hydra (Dorney I think) with the name Kinzel on it. I was wondering if CP had one. I think they should make one for all the rides taken out of the years too (that would be pretty cool)

they do have the lost rides gravestones on the midway along ones with kinzel and other big wigs from the point

It's not like the Disney characters are running around scaring people for 4 hours. Besides, they go through a lot of training. Screamsters have what, one night of rehearsal?

It's not even like were saying its perfect. Everyone's just saying that it has only been the first weekend with one rehearsal. They are just getting used to it. Give them a break.

STILL NOBODY HEARS THAT I HAD A GOOD TIME!!! I was only answering the asked question of this topic!! I juse explained one thing that could be improved!! Any way why the excuses and excuses? So if i go to work on my first day and sit outside all day gossiping with my friends that would be ok?So you hire me to do a job like be a surgeon. On the first day a person comes in with chest pains.Paging Dr ffejman, Paging Dr Ffejman, . Than my response could be hey i'm new here leave me alone? I know doctors are a different entity but it's the work ethic of the situattion. Don't make me get on a why this country is in the situation it is!!!

I'm not arguing that you didn't have a good time. I don't doubt that you did either. And ok I understand you said that could be improved, but we're just telling you that this is what normally happens the first and maybe 2nd weekend of Halloweekends. So don't just think we are all out to get you and we are attacking you because of some criticism you said. We are just responding back. But it's hard to if you keep acting the way you are.

How am i acting? I am simply debating a topic. I am using examples to prove my point. At no time did i say it happens all the time. So i'm new on here and am not in the "click". I was just stating a point of view.

Geez, this is totally not necessary.

We know you had a great time, we know you didn't like the mermaids out of character, not much we can do about it.

How are the haunted houses for those that have been. I go on October 10th and I can't wait. I've only been in Pharaoh's thingy once, and I went through Undertaker U last year, and I really liked it. How is Club Blood?

While I do understand that it was the first weekend for the screamsters and that they are in training, I agree with ffej man. What if you cannot make it to Cedar Point for Halloweekends any weekends but the first? You just have to put up with all of the mistakes because it's the first weekend?

If someone isn't that great at scaring, or not great at their character yet...that wouldn't bother me to much, because it will take time for them to get used to. But to be sitting there, talking about what to do after work, while in costume is uncalled for.

I have worked many years in retail. If I was caught sitting on the job, chatting with a friend, I would have been fired on the spot. Somedays you don't feel like it, but when in a job dealing with people you have to put on a smile and pretend to be happy until break time.

I havn't had the chance to get to CP for Halloweekends. But judging by the pictures, I think the park looks great! I guess 2 dumb mermaids wouldn't ruin my trip. But I hope that they at least got written up for it.

Edit: I just re read through this thread. What is a ride pride? Are they volunteers, or do they get paid? Were the mermaids employees? Eathier way, I still think their actions were uncalled for. But I guess if they are volunteers, they might be thinking that they are helping CP.

The thing is the general public doesn't know any of this. They pay good money to go and see this stuff. They should get their moneys worth. As I have said above, screamsters not being that great at their job yet is fine. Practice makes perfect. But if you are going to sign up for something like that, at least try to look like you are doing something. lol. I mean come on, they were honestly sitting there talking about what to do after work?
