Halloweekends...

who would puke on mean streak lol, but to each their own. this
sayturday and sunday was gorgeous.

Ive gone to pretty much every halloweekend so far. I think Cedar Point did a poor job of decorating the park, it barely looks any different than during the summer. Cedar Point didn't do very well compared to alot of other parks. =/

When i walked through Fright Zone last Friday, i noticed alot of the monsters were standing around in a circle in the corner just chatting with eachother casually, lol.. And when I went through the haunted houses, the monsters just kinda stood there and stared at me as i was walking through lol, they didn't really try to jump out and scare me.

But i do like Carnevil's new location! It's definately the best haunted attraction.

next trip: coastermaniaaa

My thoughts after Sunday, which was more crowded then I hoped but still manageable:

Club Blood: Huge Disappointment, the actors did not do a good job, the scenery was kind of blah (except for the strobe light room, but that room is still not as good as the last room at KI's Massacre Manor at disorientating you.) I really miss the spinning tunnel, that was something I could always look forward to if the RPs in there werent up to snuff, now I have nothing. I highly doubt I will go into this house again for a long time.

Pharaoh's Secret: Still think its the best of the indoors, its the longest, and ACed. Lots of cool stuff to look at inside too.

Cornstalkers: Wow, what a difference a year makes. Unlike Werewolf, which I would only do if there was no line or if there was no wind, this is not miss attraction. Phenominal, my only two critisms would be that they need some more camofloge people in there, 5-10 more so you never know the whole way when the wall is going to move. The other one is that the barn scene, is sort of lame, I dont know what you can do in there better but that was the only part that was better off under the old werewolf canyon maze.

Fright Zone: Yup this is still the best zone in the park, all the pros are here, people love it, the setting is perfect. This is reason enough for me to go to Halloweekends

Terror Island: This zone has so much potential, great sets and gags, and its so long! However, there is simply not enough scareactors back here and/or they dont spread themselves out well enough. The middle of the path (from when the crates start all the way through to the cannon) there was no scareactor to be found. Hard to say since I didnt get to Fear Faire last night, but without more people this zone is probably going to land the #3 spot after Fright Zone and Fear Faire without at least 10-15 more actors, not that I would ever miss going through this zone while here though, I loved the fog and the work the actors at the end of the zone did.

Carnevil: The location does help, but Im always disapointed going through this zone there did not seem to be enough fog in here to hide the actors and I saw no cimbal monkey and no garbage guy, part of me wishes they end this zone and send all the actors across the bridge to beef up Terror Island.

Didnt get to Fear Faire or Undertaker U (opted for more coasters instead, will do those two Fridays from now) but the improvements to this event were on a whole very good this year One Grand Slam (Cornstalkers,) One Home Run (Terror Island,) one minor improvement (Carnevil,) and one failure (Club Blood.)

What happened to the Halloween music this year. I've heard Thriller a few times and some instrumental music in Fright Zone that's all. I haven't heard Werewolves of London, The Blob, Rock Lobster, Monster Mash, etc. on the midways. I've been to HW 5 times and pay attention to the music. Unless they started playing those song since last Friday.

I thought my family was the only group of dorks who like the halloween music. We agree - the music has changed this year and we don't like it. Bring back Werewolves of London:)

^I heard plenty of halloween music the whole day yesterday. Beetlejuice, Halloween Theme, etc. Wasnt just by the scare zones either.

Dorks is us for sure. Our family looks forward to the music. I finally heard Rock Lobster yesterday. Haven't heard the rest of them yet. Most of the halloween music they played in the past is not being played. They have some instrumental/themes mixed in with some of the regular season music. The country music in the Frontier areas has been dropped for now. They seem to be playing the same music as the rest of the park.

For me HW would be a notch better if the old music was back. I want my flying purple people eater. Thank God for the Graveyard Rockers.

From what I heard the zones were understaffed yesterday because of the Sunday. I still enjoyed all of the attractions. The fog was holding very well in all of the zones. The Screamsters that were there did a good job, one finally scared me. Club Blood was an improvement to Lair of the Vampire. And Cornstalkers was worth the wait.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I'm a screamster this year in Fear Faire and I developed some super fabulous moves I use to scare people. I just wanted to share them with all of you so you can all be better screamsters.

One Man Team Scare - I first jump out of the light and say something creepy to them and then I quickly run back into the light. When they get to the light I jump out at them again. This is what I like to call the "One Man Team Scare" since I scare the person multiple times but I'm only one screamster (but I am a screamster...etc...:)

The Strike - I quickly run past a long line of people (multiple groups) and they all fall down. This is what I like to call "The Strike" since it's like getting a strike in bowling.

If anybody else has any scare tactics you should share them with us. ;)

As am I, though NOT a fan of the potential GB3. :(

Yeah, I'd rather see live-action than CGI. It just seems like it would be too cartooney in CGI.

I wouldn't worry too much..Bill Murray has said that he's only going to do it if everyone can agree that the story is better than the second one. He and the others apparently were pretty dissapointed with GB2.

If they end up doing it, I would hope they were doing it because they wanted to, not because Hollywood is adding films to every franchise they can think of..

I was referring to the inclusion of a younger group of 'Busters.

Well, that's the other way Hollywood wants to go with everything too..apparently Shia is the new Indiana, and the youngsters from X-Men are getting their own movie..

Either way, I'll hold judgement until I see anything concrete..

I am glad they were playing GB on the big screen instead of sports. About time! If it weren't for the kiddies, the Halloweens would be great. I just can't believe I've seen hand held infants through Fright Zone..Can you believe that scheisse? Um ok...Strollers too. Run into them all the time. Hell, I can't even see where I'm going have the time.

gotta go, bye.

I've seen babies/children on their dad's shoulders in the scare zones and I can't understand it. There is so much bumping going on, mostly unintended, people get scared by a screamster and jump or just run away. Having a child on your shoulders in those places is just wrong. One good bump and dad stumbles and the child flies off. I just hope there never is an accident involving a child.

Oh ya. I have been bumped around myself by people, well, more like knocked around. Sometimes I feel like when I'm walking through it, it's more wondering who is gonna run into me. Especially the young teens that get carried away. But, you know what!? Who cares! Good times!!!!! Just keep the lil biddies out please.:-D

gotta go, bye.

Ta Ta. Man, it is the end. Another year has gone. :(

gotta go, bye.

I think Fright Zone needs to take out that cemetery and put a Strobe Light in that area. :)
