Those pole/whatever footers sure have a wide base. Though I guess it's not that surprising considering the location. Cant wait to see if it is indeed for the lighting package.

The holes might only be that large in order to make it easier for the workers to construct the steel reinforcement. Or, they might just be really tall light poles.
More interesting to me is that it seems as though the lighting won't completely encircle the ride. The boardwalk/walkway has already been poured, suggesting that there won't be lights on the north side of the attraction. Or, I suppose, the light poles might be going on the other side of the boardwalk/walkway.

If these are indeed for lighting, as seems increasingly likely, they might be for some really big ass spots pointed up toward the top of the ride.

Yea, cause that's what we want to see at night when we're swinging 45° out 300' up......blinding lights. :)

Could it be a wall for a wind block to protect loaders from flying sand, or just to block the view of backstage of All Wheels Extreme.

I want to know why these idiots can't seem to keep the windseeker cams up and running. Absolutely ridiculous that both of them are down again.
Pointbuzz needs a like button. :)
Both are working just fine now.
Likeliest answer: CP shuts the feed off over night because it's dark and there's nothing to see. Probably just needs to have the turn on time adjusted.

Well that is clearly unacceptable. I say its time for CP to invest in some night vision cameras. We should not be denied the right to watch concrete cure just because its dark and there is nothing else to see! ;)

I capture images from the cam on 2-minute intervals (starting at 6:30AM M-Sa), and today's outage appears to be exactly that - an outage.
That said, I've yet to hear back from the park regarding my refund.

I know everyone hates webcam updates, but I am so excited, that the 1st piece of windseeker is on a truck near the pad. Let's get this thing assembled!
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Yeah, I don't follow the web cams at all unless someone points something out, so I have no idea if they are turned on/off at all.
Of course, if Sandusky's weather is anything like what we got last night, then it's not much of a surprise that something may have gotten knocked out.

We received some heavy rain last night, not sure if there was any lightning. Right now though we are getting a little bit of a storm. Had some hail, lightning and thunder for the past 35 minutes. Figures that they get a section ready and it starts storming.
It seems Kings Island's webcams are up and running all night and catch some interesting stuff in the night.

I like how they are really trying to come up with something that is happening at the site at night. It's Security doing patrol, nothing special. Happens all night long at pretty much all amusement parks everywhere.
Just for poops and giggles, I think KI management ought to send out a couple dancing girls to wiggle and shake it at a random time in the middle of the night. Or possibly a bear mascot -- I'm torn. But I tell you what: if I had my own web cam being viewed by thousands of fans, I'd make sure to do something interesting with it. Which is why what Becca did to inaugurate the new blog was so cool.
