It's not CP's I know, but KI is starting to install the steel columns, via their web cam.
Just pretend there's a beach in the background. ;)
Brandon
It's funny how only one column is up, and it's already out of view on their webcam. :)
[sarcasm][sarcasm]Someday, somewhere, someone should invent a webcam that pans and tilts. Think about what you could do with something like that.

Does anyone have any idea what the holes that now ring almost all of the ride are for? They look like they are deep enough to be footers, but I can't think of a reason why footers would need to be there.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
Im wondering what those are as well. I thought they might be for some kind of decorative poles as part of the landscaping but then I realized just how large they are. If it was a footer for a pole, it would more than likely be round....and smaller. Maybe theyre for something mechanical regarding the ride. Though since they appear to be getting some forms ready, these must be footers for something else regarding the ride.

I was thinking light poles and "dramatic lighting package" for Windseeker.
I think it would be cool if the new beach entrance wrapped around Windseeker from left to right along the beach and had a nice row of light posts to guide the way at night.
Or they could be the start of some planter boxes for some SHRUBBERY!
Everybody go Youtube the Knights who say NI! from Monty Python now. ;)
Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!
Maybe they're for trap doors in the queue that will open when there is a line cutter or an annoying enthusiast. :)

First Top Thrill Dragster train of 2011!
Rollbacks: 1st Triple Rollback of 2009!
There's a much larger "pool" just a little bit to the right. ;)
Maybe something to do with the control booth?
I was thinking the presumed footers would be used for an elevated non-paved walkway, similar to what Ocean Motion had.
Brandon
^But the platform is ground level.
I'm guessing they are for some sort of shade structure that will also serve as protection from falling objects by riders. A lot of drop towers have these over the queue when it circles the tower. They seem a little big for that but time will tell.

Those are where the Q bodies will be buried for this last lawsuit.

Looks like something exciting may be happening soon to Windseeker, the crane is close to the pad, are we going vertical today? :)
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Here's hoping the crew at CP is better than the one at KI. Somebody done goofed pretty bad, it seems, as they're tearing out a not-insignificant amount of brand new concrete.
Brandon
I saw that yesterday....hopefully CP won't have anything like that happen......and if it does, hopefully it won't impact opening day. I think KI has plentyof time to fix that.
BTW...looking at the new KI webcam, those sections don't look very big. Has it been said anywhere how many sections of tower make up each Windseeker?

Looks as though you may be right.

Sure does look like pole foundations. Probably light poles. The boardwalk now has a jog towards the lake behind windseeker. I wonder if this will provide access to the parasail building.
