I'd prefer the ballroom be restored, as I have plenty of the same memories as JohnMosesBrowning. (So there was the night I left the dance so drunk and passed out in the middle of Cedar Downs....) As far as it's use for meeting space or public use I think there's the issue of airco and elevators. For now the hundreds of Screamsters need a place to live, don't they?
I'd like to see an historically appropriate exterior renovation of the Coliseum. In my research of CP history I've seen photos from over the decades that range from gorgeous to decrepit. And in the 55 years I've been attending I've seen a variety of colors, from pooh brown to green to pastels. So a repaint, re-roof, and white lights on the front, the rooflines, and the cupolas would be so pretty.
I can't think of a much worse idea than wrapping that building with steel coaster track. It's a rare relic, and I'd argue it's the best surviving example of amusement park ballroom architecture in America. It deserves better, and I'm pretty sure CP is aware of what they have there.
By the way, the arcade is still a traditional draw and a money maker. I always see lots of people enjoying themselves in there, and redemption games are pretty much money for nothing. So let's find other places to jam rides into, there are plenty.
Certainly one of the first places I would head to during inclement weather if I were in the lower half of the park.
Haven't those rumors been floating around the internet for a while?
Steel Vengeance rides: 224
I'd rather be sailing
Marina operations attendant 2021-2024
Yes they have. And Tony Clark already confirmed on Twitter: “Where are these rumors being spoken?” As well as “Trust me, we’d let you know if it was going anywhere”.
Cedar Point Nation FB page is just as much as fake news as the Lemon Chill guy.
This rumor is more dried out than my aunt’s Thanksgiving turkey after she caught it on fire in the oven last year.
I made a small attempt to gently describe why their "evidence" made little sense, but it was blissfully ignored.
Promoter of fog.
A similar ride, Superman at Six Flags Ohio, was renamed ( I think Steel Venom ) at that park when Cedar Fair bought the 'Geauga Lake' park, and then moved it to Dorney where it is now 'Possessed'. Cedar Point could re-locate Wicked Twister to another part of the park or send it elsewhere. Didn't Cedar Fair make some acquisitions recently that could use something like it. The Stadium and Wicked Twister gone ( from that spot ) and move the Big Wheel again. Those 3 items vacated from that area would make a nice piece of land to build their anniversary 'thing', or 'things' on. A new coaster and a dark ride. Purely speculation.

^ sorry to be so blunt and rude, but there is so much “no” response in everything you have said.
A dark ride along the beach? For what reason would that need to be a thing? Didn’t they already get rid of an indoor coaster to open up the view of the beach?
Not to mention, if it were for the 2020 celebration, I think it would have already been under construction. In my opinion, that corner of the park has seen many “additions/improvements”, but not anything to really attract people over there. And I can assure you, Tiki Twirl is not the answer.
^While I would not want another building in that area, does it really matter what goes over there since they extended the boardwalk to the parking lot? Right now, unless you are standing in the queues for WT or GK, you really only get the small areas on either end of WT to see the beach and lake. I still think they should build a family Gravity group coaster next to the Coliseum, across from WT, that runs between Maxair and Windseeker and make it part of an updated Kiddy Kingdom and expansion. That midway is very big for the typically small crowds that roam over there, anyways.
Let’s be honest, a resurrection of Sir Rub a Dub’s Tubs would be a better fit than a Gravity Group family coaster 😉
