What Would You (Realistically) Like To See @ Cedar Point in the Future

Maverick00, those are t the lights i am talking about though. I am talking about the spot lights that light up the rides. Not those white blinking lights at the top of the rides.

From reading this site in the past, it was my understanding that MFs lights had issues with the CP power grid and were a bit too powerful. Im not sure if that can be fixed with new LED tech today.

I chuckled at the suggestion of an aquarium because CP did have one! As a kid it was a bit spooky though. Even more so when they covered up the tanks and made it an arcade.

Well according to John's latest tweet, there getting ready for ignite the night and replacing old bulbs on the giant wheel. Does anybody have any details on the new show like if it involves the giant wheel?

According to http://www.toledoblade.com/business/2012/01/20/Cedar-Fair-foresees-growth.html (near the bottom) it says that it will try to be implemented at all CF parks. However, I know that some parks (KI) do not even have a ferris wheel. Unless they are planning to use something else (Eiffel Tower) at other parks, I doubt that the Giant Wheel will be part of the show.

Although it would not surprise me... I have been wrong before :)

I hate to say it but I don't want this nighttime show spreading to all parks. The Disney parks are all different and have their own unique experience, when I go to different parks, I wanna see a different show that's unique to that park. I wanna see a show I can't see anywhere else.

The difference is that people typically go to most/all of the Disney parks during their week long vacation. Those parks have to be different from each other. In Cedar Fair's case how many people go to multiple parks in the same year let alone in the same week? They can get away with having the same show because so few people will ever notice.

They already use it for Starlight so they wouldn't have to change it.

Let's Get Weird.

eliminate the concrete midway and make it all grass sure would be nice on the feet and cut down on some of the heat.

unless it rains :)

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

Not like the drainage system works very well there now lol thankfully I wear 8 inch waterproof duty boots on patrol.

2007 to present CPPD

Just wondering ...

It is clear that Matt Ouimet realizes the beach area of Cedar Point is a perk most guests overlook. I wonder if he would push for some type of boardwalk themed area of the park. This would create a little more room to expand on the existing property and draw more people to that area. Cedar Point has been improving that area of the park, especially with Windseeker and now Soak City.

I think it would also keep people at the park later and increase the number of people taking advantage of the resort. The atmosphere on a boardwalk is appealing during the day with the beach, water, and sun and at night with the lights and sounds.

Another plus is that the amount they would have to invest could be close to other capital improvements throughout the years. A games midway, some smaller rides, unique carnival style snack stands, music, etc. could really liven up the beach and attract guest of all ages.

Mainly, I believe the boardwalk idea would be a perfect fit for what Matt Ouimet is looking to implement/improve upon at CP. He wants guests to stay at the park later, something that appeals to families, and make the beach something guest are more aware of.

I know a lot of people like the idea, but do you think the plan is realistic or will ever be implemented at the point?

^ good point, get to the point :)

Matt needs to sit there and watch all these kids and other poor folks all cram into that tiny roped in area to swim. It's almost sad to see something like that on such a LARGE beach. :( maybe he will consider this as part of the beach improvements.

They are taking care of that this year with the addition of 'Luminosity' and the later closing times.

I'd also like to see something to do after the park closes, and still on the property. The only thing to do after hours is head home or to go to your hotel room.

Some light show with dancers isn't something I'm that interested in.

It would be nice if there was more to do in Sandusky.

I would like to see better and more colorful landscaping throughout the park, maybe with the idea of photo op for the public. Say you stand in front of the beautiful landscaping and have the magnificent highrise skyline in the background. I believe the landscaping has been lacking and stale for the last 5yrs or more. I would have rather seen the Peanut's character bushes somewhere in the park rather out on the road.

I think they should have more than one show. Like different types of night shows on different days of the week. If a family is staying at CP for lets say... 3 days. They will be able to see a different night time show on each of those days.

That would be nice but parks don't usually do that. I think it's too much work to do a different show each day of the week. Who knows, Luminosity might end up being a great show where people want to see it every night. I know at Epcot at Disney World, I wouldn't mind seeing Illuminations every night.

I really hope something is done to that swimming area. The beach USED to be great, it was run and felt more like an ocean beach. You could go way out into at least 7 to 8 feet of water. When the wind was out of the north east, the incoming waves had a perfect break on the gently rising bottom so that it was great fun for body surfing or with the little rafts they used to rent. No sections like now either, they just asked you to swim in an area monitored by a life guard, and they usually had enough life guards so that you could swim wherever you liked.

They turned that into a glorified kiddie pool, it's not really fun to spend the day on the beach if there is not a decent place to swim. If the present system really stems from an insurance discount, they need to bit the bullet and spend some more money for guest satisfaction. Get ocean beach training for the life guards make the beach great like it once was.
