What Would You (Realistically) Like To See @ Cedar Point in the Future

I would like to see more resorts off property, parking off property, and a monorail! Add a boardwalk on the peninsula with shops and restaurants.. and a castle and a hat and mickey ears and.. Alright I've been at disney too long

They can't fill the rooms they have now. So I doubt they are going to be building any new resorts any time soon.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^Agreed. If anything, they might knock one down, but thats about the same odds as us getting a park circling 500 ft tall monster. ;)

Actually read some intersting things from Gravity Group yesterday about their Timberliner trains. I'm starting to think that this actually might be what CP would get, if they get a woodie. Article is below, I think the magnetic braking, as well as decreased need for maintainance will definetly be a selling point for CP.

Key features of the trains include:
• Single-bench design
• Shock absorption and ergonomic styling
• Unparalleled ability to smoothly navigate the track for decreased train & track maintenance
• Innovative restraint system for unsurpassed safety and security
• Restraints designed for higher throughput
• ASTM F2291 Class 5 restraint with integrated monitoring
• On-board sound system capable
• Magnetic braking capable
• Launch system capable

I really think that this might be where its at, even though I'd love to see a GCI. Let it be noted, however, that GCI and GG were both born out of CCI, so the similarities are apparent.

I'll also hop on board the B&M train for a moment. Why else would they have him as the keynote speaker at CoasterMania 2010? Perhaps Dick has lifted the lifetime ban of B&M Flying coaster from CP, and we'll see a Tatsu-like coaster in the near future in the front of CP.

I would realistically like to see a ride open on time at Cedar Point.

^^ Ron Toomer (from Arrow/S&S) was last year's Coastermania keynote speaker, and you don't see the park opening a brand new Arrow/S&S ride this year. I wouldn't read too much into it.

In response to Ridewarriors post, I think a B&M Floorless would look good as well up front. If Cedar Point doesn't get a wooden coaster in the future, I would love to see them get a Floorless.

Floorless are cool, but I'd much rather see a flyer or dive..

Oh please please please a B & M Floorless! Then and only then will CP be the perfect park :D

Am I the only person who thinks at least75% of B&Ms to stand for Boring & monotonous? The only styles I really enjoy are their inverts (Raptor is one of the best), their Dive coasters, and about half of their hypers.

They just seem too gentle, in my opinion. Most of their rides are pretty forceless and slow paced.

Valleyfair Enthusiast ... I really like the B&M floorless coasters and think they are some of the best (especially Dominator). Now I find flyer and dive coasters much more boring ... pretty much as boring as a coater can get, besides a kiddie coaster. I can see where people may think that B&M coasters like Diamondback are boring, but I think they are just more relaxing (which some may consider boring). I would love to see a floorless similar to Dominator at Cedar Point.

WOW ... Has anyone seen the pictures of Battlestar Galactica at Universal Studios Singapore? That looks even better than dueling dragons ... that would be cool to see at Cedar Point.

Look at Ferrari World to being built in Abu Dhabi ... it an amusement park in a dome! Going to be home to the world's fastest roller coaster! Don't expect this at CP anytime soon, but it is cool to look at ... and it a lengthy coaster too ... not TTD or KingdaKa length.

^ 149 mph, yikes!

As far as B&M, everyone has their opinion and even though I loved Diamondback I can see where people may find it much slower paced and not as intense as a coaster like Millennium. They're two different rides though, Diamondback does slow down a lot because it has 6 hills over a 100' high it has to climb up. It's two trim breaks don't do it any favors though, that I agree with.

If you watch this YouTube video I think it will change your mind about the ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IGsOviKczM

It actually seems quite boring. Especially if you follow the sit down side of the ride. No inversions on that side, just a lot of uneventful twists and turns.

OK ... yes ... an improved, much faster version of Battlestar Galactica would be cool to see at CP.

Building something like that would be too soon right now. I think more people on here would rather see a new wooden coaster. :)

I also thought Diamondback was pretty boring. The very back seat was the only place I could find where I could enjoy DB. Apolo at Busch Gardens though, now that is a good coaster! One of my favorites.

Let's Get Weird.

In my opinion the 2 major niches that need to be fillet CP are as follow:

1. A world class wooden coaster. The GP may associate this new woodie with Mean Streak and have lackluster feelings towards a new wooden coaster. What I saw at Valleyfair when Renegade went in reflects that. But, after word of mouth spread, attendance shot up. it took a while, but once people began to realize how great a woodie can be, word of mouth did some great marketing for them.

2. A dark ride. This needs no real explanation. That, and I'm lazy.

Dunno what it is about B & M coasters, I just haven't ridden one I didn't like :) I like floorless coasters and we don't have one around here; therefore, I would like a B & M floorless at CP. Just my opinion...

It's so cool they're already tearing it down. :)
