What is THIS?

Honestly, I'm glad this is going to be something other than a Aquatrax ride.

What a minute, what happened to the poster who said this ride would consist of nothing but overbanked turns and is going to be a Aquatrax? lol

From the Register Cam it looks like this element twists upside down and then completes a half loop back to the ground, sort of like a reverse Immelman. The coaster enters the element traveling west and exits traveling east. It certainly doesn't look like a conventional corkscrew to me either, at least looking at the webcam.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

There is another pic up on screamscape showing a head on angle. It kinda looks like a cross between zero-g roll and a corkscrew.

Link?

Its a zero G roll. Or a corkscrew?

Bring back Boblo!

I wouldnt think a zero g roll would have that kind of upward angle leading into it.

Edit - looking at the funcoast cam, that is likely half a corkscrew.....

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

By the looks of the cam here, it looks like whatever it is is back on the ground. (left side)

It kind of reminds me of Raptors flatspins(wingovers). Theyre not really true corkscrews. Theyre almost like a shortened, slightly scrunched in version of a zero G roll.

2500th post yay!

It is a Zero G Roll! Cool! The raptor has a heartline ZGR, this one is like a lateral ZGR>http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m193/zbus12/ZGR2-060824115032000-1.jpg *** Edited 8/24/2006 5:08:27 PM UTC by Zbusta***

Looks like a new "marketable" inversion.

Gets more and more interesting... thats for sure.

EXIT,

I don't really see this a new inversion. It looks darn close to the same as Raptor's Zero-G Rolls, but since this isn't inverted, the track ends up taking a wider radius... consequently looking in between a ZGR and a corkscrew.

I think whatever they call it, it'll be awful fun :)

Hmm... "Awful fun". Is that like a horrible good time?

;)

^ Exactly. A cross between a zero-g roll and a corkscrew. Hasn't really been done before, has it? :)

I would consider Raptor's twist after the MCBR a croosover between the two. It definately kicks out more than the twist right after the loop.

In the picture above do you think these steel plates going to be use for an hil.so they can check the ride.

Let me re-phrase. Was Raptor's twist advertised that way? ;)

Not saying this will be, either, but it's something to consider.
