I would love a new log flume...
I have been ignoring most of the politicallness of this thread but I do not think McCain/Palin will touch abortion. Did Bush? It is rare to change anything which is mostly ideological.
Really? Perhaps one of the most influential things a president does is appoint justices to the Supreme Court. Of course McCain would not directly go after abortion, but the judge(s) he is likely to appoint will.
These things rarely change because justices in the supreme court are there for life...or until they have had enough. I think it is fairly safe to say that the next president will nominate 2 justices...definitely 1...but very likely 2. That will be the end of Roe V. Wade, and as you put it, things will not change again for a long time.

I think I'd almost rather see a new flume ride than a new coaster, frankly. Maybe along the Frontier Trail somewhere. As long as a very minimal amount of trees were cut down to put it in. I like my log rides in the shade.

The same can be said about the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Something I find far more important than a woman's "right" to kill a fetus or not.

^ But there is common ground, at least, in the fact that we both at least realize the appointments that will be made can and may have an impact on issues many of us care about.

I think lots of people care about balanced budgets and health care reform but it is more controversial issues which get noticed.
Actually people care about most issues but the specifics may be boring.
For health care reform for example are you interested in every detail? For balanced budgets how closely will you look? It is the overall issue which is interesting, the detail is often less interesting.
You guys are having a very passionate election, enjoy. I just had a very boring one.
I am up for a new flat ride but I think they are fixing mean streak. Can we get a loop?
I'm going out to get some air.
And now we are back to abortion one of the more "interesting" topics. Sensationalism....

Am I on political buzz, or pointbuzz?
Anyway, I am all for a new log flume.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I was kidding about the loop but I never got to ride son of beast when it had one. Wish I had.
I am surprised by the interest in flume rides. I always liked the zoombafume at wonderland but they took it out for a coaster and white water landing had the same fate. Both of those rides were nice, long and scenic. They took a lot of people. Things like Timberwolf falls are more about getting wet.
Has anyone checked out the new ride at Holidayworld? It is has an insane lift. I am sort of affraid of it.

It's sort of the Top Thrill Dragster of flume rides.
I agree, lets hope for no rollbacks on the lift.

Personally, I miss Mill Race. I'd never say they shouldn't have torn it out for the sake of Raptor, and I was maybe 12 the last time I rode it, but I remember it as a nice long flume ride, nothing crazy, nothing that soaked you, just enough to be fun. It was relaxing, it cooled you off, it had a couple of drops, etc.

Do you really think Obama would try to alter said right?

I think the park really needs a flume ride, it seems somewhat incomplete without it. As far as removing WWL just to build another flume ride in the near future, people forget that Shoot-The-Rapids was removed for White Water Landing.
I think every amusement park needs a flume ride (shoot-the-chute rides don't count), it's a staple like a carousel, ferris wheel and roller coaster.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I dont think I truly appreciated WWL until we had our daughter. She is only 12 months old, but, having taken her along to a couple parks, I want her to be able to do things together with us as much as possible whne she does get a little older. There are other options, of course...but I think I agree with Pete...it's one of those things you look for on a park map.
