Indeed, Walt ... But what else also exists is a little bit of that old "do as I say, not as I do" mindset ...
While some people get a "free fast pass" with their criticism of the park, others get out right destroyed for doing it !! Guess that goes with the territory.
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
The only time I see criticism handled harshly is when the criticism in question is especially illogical or irrational.
Suggesting that the park should have stayed opened to thousands of guests without running water certainly falls into at least one of those categories.

Yes, but who is it that decides whether it's illogical or irrational ??
You and I might think that, but a guy shouldn't be torched for having a little outside-of-the-box take on it.

You really are fascinating to me. I've noticed your pattern: instead of responding, you set up a series of made-up statements and respond to those, instead.
Observing that your perception doesn't have much to with reality is not a wisecrack. It's a statement. I really do not think you understand what would have been involved in having Cedar Point pursue your fantastical ideas of keeping the park open.
You know this forum is just getting flat out stupid now....this one on the water main break....
They need to hire Steve, because they clearly missed the answer to their problems.

The community, of course. And reputation plays a role, obviously.
It's one thing to ask the question "why didn't they keep the park open?" It's another thing to continue to ask that question continuously for days, after several others have offered very solid, reasonable, and in some cases sourced, answers.
You and I might think that, but a guy shouldn't be torched for having a little outside-of-the-box take on it.
Again, asking questions or thinking outside the box isn't torch-worthy. Labeling anyone who disagrees with you a "fanboy" is.

God where is that +1 button. ;). That deserves at least post of the month. Thanks Walt for making me laugh ridiculously loud at work.
Still smiling at the gif, best post in a long time! :)

Pattern ? Really ? Is that what I was doing ?? Responding to my own made-up statements ?? LOL WOW You've gathered all of that from the short time we've bantered back and forth on here ?? Cool.
Hell, if I'm that creative and "fascinating," maybe I should be looking for a new line of work !! lol
I understand perfectly what was involved with the park. NO WHERE did I state that they SHOULD HAVE remained open. You read into what you wanted so you could justify your purpose of making a, yes, WISE CRACK ! Telling someone that they're not in reality because they don't agree with you is being a plain and simple smart ass !

Now THAT was funny.....I retract my previous post....

So basically what you're saying is, that because A) You have seniority here, OR B) Have 100,000 more posts under your belt than the next guy - you and some others are "entitled" to label or flame those beneath you, as you see fit ??
Again, asking questions or thinking outside the box isn't torch-worthy. Labeling anyone who disagrees with you a "fanboy" is.
Just like labeling someone a "troll" because they disagree with you is, correct ??I see a pretty simple formula at work here: If one cannot take it, perhaps then, he/she should not dish it out !

... and I believe you make Stew's point for him (or at least mine). It was illogical or irrational for the park to close and turn away 10's of thousands of guest especially when there so many alternatives and other places took measures to remain functional. This whole issue is really just a matter of the park failing to deal with adversity and just giving up. Even the park has admitted it gave up and has made efforts to make up for their failure. Why "fanboys" continue to try make up excuses for the parks failure is the mystery.
Some people don't think out of the box, they don't have a box to start with.

Gotta give it up to CP marketing spinning this weekends mess into the "just add water" campaign... gotta love it....nice way to spin a disaster into a pretty funny and clever marketing idea...
I heard that the PR spinsters voted and narrowly went with the "Just add water" promotion instead of a new slogan: Cedar Point - "The Real Life Wally World".

Best. Post. Ever. I'd say you win all the PointBuzz internets, but you kinda already have them. :)

You keep saying this as if it's some undeniable truth. If anyone disagrees, you just hurl out a "fanboy" taunt. That's like thinking you can win a political argument by saying, "libtard," dropping the mic, and walking away. All you've done is given an opinion, backed up with generalizations and irrelevant comparisons.
I have a question. Where are they supposed to put the thousand or so porta-potties they would have brought in? Remember, the trucks to empty them need access to them, so perhaps on the midways? I mean, porta-potties on the edge, trucks driving up and down the middle emptying them. Plenty of room for 30,000 people.

Sorry I wasn't more clear - that was poorly worded. I was referring to the reputation of the person making the controversial post. When someone has a history of calling anyone in opposition a "fanboy", you take that into account.
Just like labeling someone a "troll" because they disagree with you is, correct ??
People aren't labeled trolls for disagreeing. Certainly not by the community at large.
If you're referring to when I labeled you as such, that's because you're making demonstrably false claim that I'm a "fanboy", and seem to be doing so simply for the sake of being disagreeable.
