Vertical Construction Has Begun!

Anyone watching the webcam the past couple days will see that the first lift support was placed last week, and the first lift piece is on the move.

The lift hill track pieces are going up and more supports as well!

I didn't think the lift hill was going to look that steep! I'm excited to follow it. The 2nd support has been put up as well.

EDIT: It looks like they're ready to put up the next piece of the lift hill

^^ Beat me to it. Just got home @3pm and saw the crane (on the website) putting up the entire lift hill! You're right, that does look steep and the view a little different now. Can't wait to see the rest, especially the front gate section.

One more piece before its at max height.

^ Getting a little bit ahead there. There's still plenty of lift left.

Not really...one more piece and then the crest.

On the fourth row of supports, the ride will reach 170'. Notice how only the second row has gone up.....

The 4th row of supports will hold the top. The 3rd row will hold the last straight part of the lift before the crest. I'm guessing 150 feet after the next double section of lift and then 20 or so for the crest.

Ok? that's pretty much what I just said.

And the part you quoted said " one more piece and then the crest," which essentially is also what you just said. One more straight lift, just like xcoasters said.

Holy cow! At this rate, if the weather dosen't take a turn for the worst, I think the track for this thing could be finished before the end of the year. :)

^It's a B&M after all :)

See the trend....and I like it :D
B&M's require little maintenance, reliable, and are VERY eye-catching. Almost all of these are among the most popular rides at each park.

Mr.K finally moved on to B&M. Intamin is just too much some-times.

I think a lot of parks in North Ameica have moved on from Intamin. There was one Intamin coaster last year and so far none this year. Lots of "somewhat" new manufacturers such as Zierer, Mack and Premier are making their way in.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Intamin is known for: Millennium Force, Kingda Ka, Volcano, Skyrush, El Toro. Not every park is willing to go soo extreme or expensive. Zierer, Mack & Premier aren't doing anything "ballsy" like Intamin. Which is an overall good thing. More parks go for Z/M/P type rides than all those giants Intamin produces.

Mack and premier have been around for some time. they are not doing bigger projects but still have been around. I know most people are pumped for a new B&M. i for one would take a Intamin over the B&m. Rather push the limits.

I completely (100% agree), from an enthusiasts standpoint. From a bushiness view: B&M's are more reliable and draw huge crowds---Intamins do the same, but less reliable. You might be able to do more with an Intamin, but will you get a noticeably larger crowd than with a B&M of a similar design?

What's the point of pushing the limits for a few gimmicky features, will spending that extra amount of cash pay off better than just going with a simple B&M design?

It seems parks today only go for Intamin for bragging rights, because they know Intamin WILL deliver on that promise.
