v6.0 Now testing

I'm having a minor issue with the forward/back buttons in IE6. Say I go from the forum list to a topic list in "General", then click the back button to get back to the forum list, that works fine. But if I click forward, and then attempt to get back, it doesn't work. I don't think this was an issue in the older forums but maybe it's just me. Also, I don't really like the -------------- above the signature, but I think that's just a personal preference that the extra line is not needed - no biggie.

Edit: it also seems to give me problems sometimes when I go from the forum list to a specific forum to a specific topic and then try to hit back twice to get back to the forum list. It goes back to the topic list, but refuses to go back to the forum list.

I've noticed the same issue with the back buttons.

Still trying to post...it looks like I can post using nutscrape, they show up, then go away. Can't get it to work with IE. I'm I going to the wrong place? Whenever I hit reply, I get a page that says Move Object here.

Are you using IE 5.0? Maybe 5.0 is having the problem. Hard to say.

I noticed the back button problem. It's weird... when you look at the back button drop down in a topic, no problem. Do it from a topic list, and there's an extra "(untitled)" entry there. Hadn't noticed before since I generally use the links at the bottom and to of the threads.

OldCPer... I can see your posts just fine.

I was wondering about the number of posts before breaking into pages...I know at Coasterbuzz that it counts to 40 before a new page is created, and there is a 25 count here. I thought that 25 posts is a little low for each thread page. I know it might hinder performance a bit, but with the speed it's running now, I don't think that really a factor. Does anyone else feel this way?

Sorry, Jeff...my problem. When I posted, it automatically took me back to the first page and I failed to check the second page. DUH! Anyway, nutscrape works and sorry for all the stupid posts. I was just feeling pretty poorly when I thought I couldn't post on my favorite site!

I'm using IE 5.0, I would NEVER use a popup killer, and although there is a reply box, it won't let me type in it. Java is definitely running.

The number of posts/topics per page is "admin-able" and easy to change. It's not a performance issue. I had a good reason to try the shorter pages, but don't remember what exactly that was.

So the problem appears to be tied to certain builds of IE 5.0. Interesting. I'll have to dig a bit.

OK, I tried something on the thread page only. See if the box in IE 5.0 appears ready to accept text now (this isn't in the new topic box yet).

Well if anyone is having problems not being able to post with IE 5.0 upgrade to IE 5.5. I was not able to reply with IE 5.0, Jeff told me to try upgrading to IE 5.5. I did and now it works fine, so there must be something weird with IE 5.0.

And one thing I noticed is there is no Quote feature anymore, but I'm sure you know about that.

Crap, and I was hoping you'd be one of the people to try 5.0 with the hopeful fix I just tried. ;)

That's ok Jeff, I use IE 5.0 on my computer at home, so I'll find out tonight if the fix worked or not. As will OldCPer also :)

As you can see, I tried posting with 5.0 again...at least this time it let me type in the box, but the text didn't appear in the post.

But...you seem to be on the right track, Jeff. I can upgrade to a newer version of IE, but if you wish, I'll stick with 5.0 if you want to do more testing.

I'm at work, but it's a slow day, and my lunch hour is coming up as well, so I can stick around GTTP and keep trying

Sweet, looks like Jeff has fixed the IE 5.0 problem, this means I most likely don't have to download 5.5 at home on my superfast 56K modem. WooHoo, Great job Jeff

Everything seems to work with Netscape 4.76 ( I REFUSE to use the bastard son that AOL created with v6) except the cookie thing.

This post was done with IE 6.0.2600.0000 and all seems to be working just fine.

OK... bug hunter update...

The problems in IE 5.0 are related to the fact that I was using something not supported until 5.5. That won't change, but it will allow pre-5.5 users to post with the normal text box. I'll try and get a new build up tonight.

I also noticed a problem with parsing e-mail addresses already enclosed in forum tags. Working on that one now...

Yeah, IE 5.0 was not working for me either. Also at the bottom below the ad there was the coding for the page displayed. It only happend once so I have no clue why it did that.
