Sunfire, that looks to be for a zero-g roll. ;)

What in the world is going on with these supports?

It is to hold both sets of track when it does a fly by. ;)

This kinda throws a pickle into the launch/brake section idea.

Not necessarily. Perhaps its denial, but the track itself doesn't need to hug the supports in that way. Maybe I'm stretching this a bit, but could it be possible that the track itself may have an extra support piece that connects to the lowest supports there? Maybe similar to this piece:

http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4404

Perhaps there needs to be room for whatever type of transportation device is installed in the station ie. kicker wheels? I could just be way off though.

Something tells me that that's where the little vertical S-bend peice goes...

http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4406

And that basically discredits the launch idea...but I dunno, maybe an LIM launch could fiti n that small a straightaway, if say, perhaps, it used single car trains?

Or it means that the train is traveling pretty slow at that point, otherwise I think that litte S thing would hurt a tad.

I reallly hope they don't have single car trains. Slow moving line.

That "V" shape supports doesn't look like it will connect to the track like that. Maybe has a larger support connects to it?

Who says those supports are in a straight line. Looks like there are still footers to the left.

Or could this be going there

Going a whole new direction. A launched flyer.

Is there where the possible station might be? makes sense to me...downhill braking, Wide amount of supports but not too lengthy to hold a station, and then a 90 degree turn to the left out of the station and on to the lim launched lift hill ;)

There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force

These are the most confusing peices of track and supports I have ever seen. You get an idea of what this coaster might be and then you get really weird and confusing peices come the next day, which makes you rethink.

Your welcome guys (and gals) ;)

Im going again in a week... I may bring you more shots *** Edited 7/27/2006 5:10:32 PM UTC by BGRooDoG***

Maybe that's where the sweet themed tunnel is! ;)

100 acres?

I don't think CP has anything to worry about.

Brandon

Hey everyone first time poster here but i had to ask if anyone has ever seen a sopport like this before Project 07' http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4437

thats another "WTF" for me anyways along with the track piece everyone is talking about lol.

100 acers is only 27% the size of cedar point. And being done with 40 acres within one year is doubtful. I beleive Cedar Points parking lot is bigger than 40 acres.

And what does that have to do with Update:July 26 anyway?

Also one more thing to add... these supports seem to be the end of a banked turn and go back horizontel track (un-banked). idk too many new things coming everyday to confuse us all!!!!!!!

There are a bunch of WTF's with this project.... I can't make head nor hair of anything.

yeah Cedar point itsself is about 364 acres so i dont see west virgina beating us by any stretch of the immagination lol. cedar point will live on for ever... far after SFMM!!!!!!! DOWM WITH SIX FLAGS!!!!

Hey, could someone explain to me what a LIM or LSM launch is?? I know what a hydraulic launch is but I don't know what these are

Not to mention that CP has been around for a few years.

Ok guys your right .But if you live in this tiny city that i live in you would be excitied.But to look out your back yard and have a theme park there is very exciting .At least for me it is..I dont have to drive for 3 hours to have fun .Ok Im Sorry im just very happy.Hey j2k that is what the newspaper said that 40 acres is going to be done by next july.Ok enough talk about this lets get back on topic sorry if i made any one mad .im just happy.This will be the last time we talk about this..

LIM=Linear Induction Motor

LSM=Linear Synchronous Motor

They are basically just a launch that uses electromagnets. Like what TTD uses to slow the train down, these coasters use to speed the train up!

2009--Dragster Photo

LIM: Linear Induction Motor;

A method of launching a roller coaster train down a straight section of track using electromagnets mounted on the track and on the train. Magnets on the track attract the magnets on the train, accelerating it forwards, until the magnets on the train pass those on the track, at which point the magnets on the track reverse polarity and work to repell the train forwards

LSM: Linear Synchronous Motor;

A method of launching roller coaster down a straight section of track using electromagnets mounted on the train. These magnets on the train create a magnetic field around a metal rail that slides between the magnets, which pushes the train forwards
