Basicly....if the end of the support has a flange AND gussets (triangular wedges) around it, it will most likely attach to track. If it does not have these gussets, it will most likley attach to another piece of support.
I originally thought the same thing as you. However, if you look at the supports on site, there ARE "webbed" flanges connected to other support. Plus, if you look at newer Intamin's (like Speed Monster), there are "webbed" and "non-webbed" flanges attached to track too.
I was on the same wavelength as you though and then was shot down by Intamin's varied structural details. :)
edit: See this link http://rcdb.com/ig3245.htm?picture=14 for an example of "webbed" and "non-webbed" flanges and how they can connect to anything really. *** Edited 7/26/2006 5:52:35 PM UTC by halltd*** *** Edited 7/26/2006 5:53:03 PM UTC by halltd***
Gomez...do u have a link that we could see what this robotic coaster looks like?
There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force
I dont but buy Supercoasters or build one on RCT3.
Bow down, Bow down before the power of Santa, or be crushed, be crushed by----- his Jolly boots of Doom.

But that's what CP is building; if you listen to Dragonfire at least.

That straight away is a magnetic brake run. No doubt. Hyrdaulic launches don't suddenly change angle half way through the launch. These supports most definitely do. I still don't see any supports that fully convince me that this thing will be taller than Rita. We'll see.

Yea, but at least we know that this coaster will not hug the ground.
What?
I don't know what's bringing you to this conclusion, but I still think we'll see a significant chunk of the ride down low.
Doesn't mean it won't go up in the air sometimes, but I still think you'll spend more time on the ground than you are hoping for.
To me, the RoboCoaster= Throwing Up! LOL
I can't even ride that Maxair without feeling woozy.
I think it's going to be a new launching system and they don't want to lose time trying to test it.
Aren't the beams too close to be a break run? It would need a bit of room before going up that hill, right?

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
This looks more and more confusing everytime I see the pictures of more footers! What a confuding layout!

I think you're not correct. I believe it will be a proven system, that needs time to test so all the bugs are worked out. :)
I was thinking about this and realized that if these supports were for a launch (assuming it's hydraulic) then where would the hydraulic building go? I think that makes this more likely that we're seeing the brakerun.
