When have I ever said I hate Dragster or have tried to get anyone to not like it? I'm disappointed in it sure, but I've never said I hate it. Hell, I've called it a great thrill ride (its still a mediocre coaster). For 25 million, I expect more consistency from a ride.

Dont worry Gomez, I know you were being sarcastic.
Ok, let me just say this.
Coastern3rd and John, I don’t mean literal persuasion. And I’m not referring to anyone in specific because I know some of you are just talking the truth.
And speaking about the truth, I’m not being oblivious. I don’t go to the park when Dragster is closed to weather and say "omg it ran so great today!!". I’m well aware of what has happen to it and its performance from previous years. But I don’t need to have people reminding me about things that have already happened in the past.
My 5 year old Golden Retriever peed on the furniture when he was a puppy, he doesn’t do it anymore but he's a bad dog because he misbehaved as a puppy. That's the kind of impression I sometimes get on here. Some cant leave the past in the past and look forward to the future.
That brings up predictions. Predictions are fine eveyone has their own opinion.....predict it'll have a bad year, predict that it'll be down for hours on end.....but don’t "recall" something that happened to it last year or in 04 or 03 and us it as a reason for your prediction. So don’t say it'll have a bad year because of last years incident with the gearboxes or that it'll run JUST like it did 03 or 04....because you don’t know.
Thats being said Im sorry for causing this. But I stand by what I say.
So how about we all let bygones be bygones? ::sticks out hand:: No hard feelings everyone? *** Edited 5/25/2006 8:23:26 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Predictions are based off past performance. No one predicted the Tigers to be where they are now because their past performance has been, well, awful.
Is there hope for improvement with TTD? Sure. But reality (and past performance IS part of reality) says that hope should be tempered. Expecting it to run flawlessly through the season is being setup for disappointment. However, hoping the ride is able to get above 90% up time (something it has yet to do in 3 years) that would be not only reasonable, but also a great improvement.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I dont remember ever saying it'll run flawlessly....even I know that's impossible!:)
I hope the ride is able to get above 90% up time this year.
Is that better?:)
At least our arguments arent as bad as some baseball, basketball and football fan discussion boards are when it comes to who's team is going to win ___________. ^_^

I'm not saying it was you that is saying that. But that is the feeling I get from some posters.
And I don't feel like I'm bashing anyone, just trying to use the Ronco flavor injector to inject some reality in the discussion about expectations. I dont' want any rides to have significant down time. That reflects bad on the park as a whole (especially to the GP).

"I dont' want any rides to have significant down time. That reflects bad on the park as a whole (especially to the GP)."
Then let's all agree on that note. Agreed?

And just for the record, I'm hurt I wasn't included in the list of people who are still vocal about TTD. ;)
I never even waited in line for it last weekend. Ben there, done that and there was too much else to do.
There is MUCH more to Cedar Point than TTD.

Guys, guys, guys... Stop putting words in my mouth. I don't come on here looking for an argument, but on the same note I'm certainly not going to let unrealistic comments go by uncontested.
Just for clarity:
Did anyone notice a pattern?
Don't take any of this to heart. I'm not picking a fight, I don't dislike any of you and I certainly don't have a TTD voodoo doll on my desk. All I want is for some consistency. If you make a prediction, fine, that's great. But, you cannot change the requirements for what you consider to be a good season as soon as those conditions aren't met. Well, maybe you can, but I'm not gonna let it go by without making mention of that fact. I didn't bring it up to start an argument - I only wanted everyone to step back into reality.
The reality: TTD will likely continue to improve over the next several years. By 2010, I'm sure it will run consistently well, with very little significant downtime, once they begin to understand the system better and are better equipped (with both knowledge and the appropriate spare parts) to handle problems that arise. I certainly would be pleased if the Dragster were performing at 95%+ starting now, but that is just not likely to happen.
Sure, the Tigers have turned things around, but it took them a lot longer than 3 years. ;)

Hey man, I wish they'd get it running consistently too. Nothing is more annoying to be riding Magnum early in the morning, and then have the line absolutely fill up because people were told at Dragster it was down and to go ride other rides. :(
Please run dragster. Your queues are valuable space to store people who I don't want in front of me at Magnum!
Just wanted to say that TTD ran great yesterday, I was able to ride it 3 times and once in the front seat only waiting a combined 4 hours max, including the 2 1/2 hour wait when it was delayed due to rain for a 1/2 hour and then due to mechanical failure for 45 mins, it did have a few minor problems but nothing to set it back more than 15 mins (Other than the rain delays...)
I can't believe you spent 4 hours on one ride. Cedar Point has SO much else to offer!

I would never do that either. I only went on the ride three times during a day because it was a walk on. One ride is always enough for me.
P.S. - Some fans don't even need to ride the ride a lot to be fan. :)

But if you plan on making more than 2 or 3 trips, it doesn’t hurt to spend a good deal of one trip on or two rides.....assuming you actually like the ride that much. ::wink wink:: :)
I plan on making a trip completely dedicated to riding Dragster. I want to see how many rides I can get on in one day. So far my record is 5.
And in rare occurrences, I’m only able to get on it once.....but like Gomez said, one ride is always good enough. As long as I get on it, the trip is a success.

One word: Amazing!!!!
Not one bit of downtime.....nothing!!!!!
There were small delays but they were mostly guest realated. I unfortunatly only got 2 rides on. If it werent for my 3 "tired" friends, I would have got at least 2 more rides.
-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut
The funny thing was that there were 5 of us. 2 of my friends (Trevor, David) have season passes with JCC (as do I)…...so almost all of our trips will be with each other. My friend David is as big of a CP fan as I am and he can withstand just as much of CP as I can. My other friends are not so tolerable. Even though it was hot, they called David and I (we had split up form them for just a little bit) around 5:30 after our 2nd Dragster ride and said they wanted to leave. Well David and I were soooo mad that we just kept going on rides all the way until 7:30. Not only did we do that but we started giving second thoughts about our fellow JCC friend Trevor. We just hope that these requests of leaving early wont happen again. Otherwise there's a good possibility that David and I will rethink about bringing Trevor along. For now, he and the other 2 get the benefit of the doubt (heat etc). *** Edited 5/30/2006 5:17:12 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***
