Goodbye MrScott

"Anybody on the East Coast who is into roller coasters is going to be on this ride very soon," he said.
Be on this ride very soon? LOL! This is an unrealalistic statement. This ride will be down a heck of a lot more than TTD was last season. (Not to mention it's troubles this season) Intimain better be prepared for more guests complaing about their downtime, and sure as hell be stocked up on those cables!
Isn't this the same park that the guy fell out of S:ROS and died? Making Intamin change their restraints? Maybe this ride will have OTS restraints AND ankle restraints!
Something funny about this...Six Flags makes the claim.."Shatters ALL records!" We all know that 120mph is TTD's minimum, it almost ALWAYS goes a few mph faster. 36 feet taller. How are they planning on making that train over the TH?
So, "Shattering" records consists of 36 feet and arournd 4mph faster. If I am not mistaken, doesn't TTD accellerate to it's top speed in just UNDER 4 seconds?
Six Flags....be prepared to put in 500 man hours in maintinence per week in this thing!
Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

I agree with you there. Dragster SHATTERED records when it came out, Kingda Ka barely beats Dragster. But oh well, they have the record now, let them advertise it as they please. And also remember, the majority of the people that visit GADV aren't going to know Top Thrill Dragster exists. All they're going to know is "wow, omg, so fast, so tall!!!"
You need to keep in mind that Six Flags Great Adventure serves two of the 10 largest metropolitan areas in the country (Philly and New York City), it’s also only about a 3 ½ hour drive Washington D.C. (also among the ten largest), not to mention several other smaller metro areas like Trenton, NJ; Atlantic City, NJ; Allentown-Bethlehem, PA and Willmington, DE.
Six Flags Great Adventure has a much higher number of people living within their “advertising reach”, then Cedar Point, yet they struggle to draw as many people through their gates as Cedar Point which serves a much smaller number of people with a shorter season. Why is this? It’s each individual park’s track record: Six Flags Great Adventure has received a number of black-eyes for various major problems since it opened in 1974, ranging from customer service issues, fires, maintenance issues, gang problems, and the like. This new coaster may add to that constantly growing list if they don’t work out the kinks.
Cedar Point has a long, extensive, and proven track record at overall customer satisfaction, not to mention that they are great at building, maintaining and installing world-class, record setting coasters and thrill rides since opening 134 years ago.
When these rides opened, they were record breakers or innovative designs for their type of ride:
Gemini (1978), Magnum (1989), Millennium Force (2000), Top Thrill Dragster (2003): Each opened as the world’s tallest, fastest coaster.
Wicked Twister (2002): Tallest and fastest Impulse coaster.
Mantis (1996): Tallest Stand-up coaster.
Raptor (1994): Tallest Inverted coaster (also was the third of its kind built).
Snake River Falls (1993): Tallest, Fastest of its kind
Thunder Canyon (1986): Longest rapids ride.
Corkscrew (1976): First triple looping coaster
Mean Streak (1991): Tallest wooden coaster
Even the Giant Wheel was one of the largest Ferris Wheels, and the former Cedar Point Cinema had one of the largest indoor movie screens when they opened.
There are more items to mention (more rides, more coasters than anywhere else, and also most coasters over 200 feet, and 300 feet tall, awards, etc…).
Don’t be upset about what Six Flags is doing in New Jersey. They just raised the bar a bit (although only by EIGHT M.P.H.) This is actually GOOD for Cedar Point! Competition prevents complacency.
Be patient, it won’t be long before we’re riding the tallest, fastest roller coaster again at Cedar Point - the track record is WELL proven, and speaks for itself over and over! *** Edited 9/29/2004 3:18:27 PM UTC by BigHkid***

S ROS is in the New England park, this will have OTS restraints (look at the vid) And if it says it is 123 that would be the minimum, I would expect 130+ on rainy days! And I think they are undershooting there launch for more roll backs (publicity, reason to ride again, and again until you do get a roll back) I do believe they overstated it, at least for your area, but, every time I am at Gadv, I hear at LEAST 2, or 3 people telling there friend about the tallest coaster in the world being "NITRO" You sort of have to roll your eyes and keep walking! This will also be the first time most of the people around here have gone over like 80 on any ride, so 123 is SOOO FAST to the GP. And under 4 seconds, It will have there tongues hanging out of there mouths. And after the record is taken, the GP wouldn't know, they already think Nitro is the tallest... This year will be a turning point for Gadv, they have the bait, now they need the clean parks, great customer service, and rides that run to get people coming back! If they don't do that, I lost faith in SF lol!
I say good for them... and good luck.
As for CP, I sure as hell hope they don't try to build something bigger. Please, let's just stop going there and build something fun. Y'all remember fun rides, right? Look at Dorney's Talon and now Hydra. Fun, not record breaking.
In what universe? By that logic, a bridge 30 feet off the ground would send your car airborne at 70 mph.

...the 127' hill @ 128 mph would yes derail the train...

you'll notice on the animation that there are OSR on the ride. Thoes serve two purposes. 1)The air time over the last hill is extremely prolonged 2) It's Intamins way of making restraints for larger people.
Also, the official stats for TTD are 420ft, and 200 km/h in under 4 seconds. 200km/h is converted to approx. 124mph. So if dragster is shorter by 36 feet and can only barely make it over, how is the new ride going to make it with only 4mph extra

All I have to say is that I hope they experience lots of downtime...moreso that TTD did.
Kingda Ka, shattering all existing world records for speed and height at
Yes, it really does say 418 ft on their own website.
128 mph and 418 feet.
If you go to pick a park, then to GADV, it has it listed as 456 ft.
GOOD LUCK SIX FLAGS! *** Edited 9/29/2004 5:18:58 PM UTC by CurrentlyDownDueTo FillInTheBlank***
Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!
Just give it up CP and put in a fun ride. Kudos to Dorney Park for calling B&M.

Well, at least they didn't call it Krazy Kingda Ka.
That wouldn't be PC then....Everyone would be calling it the KKK!
