Things that need to go...

The car rides really are well placed. While older people in a family ride Bluestreak, or Raptor the older parents/grandparents and younger kids can ride the turnpike cars, cedar downs and Cadillac cars. Not to mention the 4X4's in Kiddy Kingdom are there when the family rides WT and DT. This happens again back in Frontiertown where part of the family rides MS and the kids can do Antique cars,WWL, and the waveswinger. Just sitting here thinking about CP's placement of family friendly rides they really do a great job. Being that I don't have kids...yet, I never really thought about the ride placement. They really are laid out well enough for the family to remain relatively close. Kinda makes me rethink Peanut's Playground location. It is close to Kiddy Kingdom but it allows for another option for the kids. Being with my really little cousins at SFWOA (GL now) it was hard to catch up with them for a drink or something without going half way across the park, as they would be in the Looney tunes kid area and I would be riding RWB, BKF, ST. Granted its not that far of a walk but the idea is still there.

Newt, I think you've hit on a really accurate point, that having tamer rides and kids' areas near the "biggies" helps families stay closer together & makes the day more fun for all. When my son was little, either too short or too not-ready for Magnum, he rode the Dodgem Cars (now removed) like 26 times while we waited in line & rode Magnum. He was totally happy to "drive" a car, and we were so glad we could ride Magnum together!

I can't think of any ride that wouldn't dissapoint me in losing. However there has to be better placement for the ugly Disaster Transport.
Hey dt is good and white water landing wont go because kinzel doesnt want to destroy the western atmosphere back in that corner. as for expansion the aquadics stadium seams ti be the next thing to go because not a whole lot goes on there othen then the dive show and if they dont haave enough divers what will go there. no more fish thres no holding tank...

Dt is storage for alot of the halloweekends stuff if they put a mill into it they could revamp the digital efficts. the explosion screen could be re done and the efficts went to hell because of a couple years they had electronic problems so the saw that when they were turned off the ridership didnt decrease that much. the last time i talked to monty he said it was staying there for a while and he didnt forsee anymajor things happening to it anytime soon.

I think the theming is cool the way it is. I remember thought the big robotic theming which was really cool. Who knows maybe they took that out because the robots were not working right everyday.

I have been watching this discussion for quite some time and it is interesting to see the various opinions seem to me are really age specific. Younger fans want bigger and better (well actually most of want that), but what are you willing to trade to get it? My daughter is only four and she is already an adrenalin junky. Anything that gives her a rush she is ready for and yet one of her favorite parts of the park is Peanuts playground. I however do see that being removed in the near future because of the potential for another ride in that area. If that is removed, then Ocean Motion moved (also one of my daughters favorites) and the small meeting-picnic pavillion behind it along with what remains of the aquarium-dive show building being demolished and there is a lot of room for another major attraction. In the past years they continue to remove things from the peanuts area and I think it is living on borrowed time. One thing I would personally hate to see go that has been mentioned is White Water Landing, We always head there first on warm summer days and it has become a tradition for us to get in early with Joe Cool Club just to go there and be the first in line. I guess my point is that CP takes all of guests opinions into account and although some of the choices are tough, they do what is best for the future. Right now I think that means keeping all coasters great or small and unfortunately introducing rides with a minimal footprint on the Point. Like WT and TTD both rides I like but I do love the out and back rides like MF and Magnum. I love it the way it is so keep everthing and just bring in load after load of dirt and expand out into Lake Erie. : ) See you opening day!
3. Wicked Twister - This should have never been built in the first place...refer back to #1 on the list.

Are u crazy, thats the 3rd best ride in the park. If anything needs to go, its demon drop and parking lot.

MF, WT and TTD are the best @ CP

5 days until opening day!

As I mentioned before, CP is trying to light a tower not land an airplane.

Chris, coming from an aviation major, i must say that while no, you aren't trying to land a plane, there is an airport relatively close by and any light that would shine on that obstruction (from a pilot's perspective) to make it visible would be great.

Apparently all you Disaster Transport bashers have never ridden original Avalanche Run... If Cedar Point knows whats good for them, the only ride they will consider removing, is Mean Streak. Tho Mean Streak (was) a good ride, if they don't make it what it originally was... it needs to be scrapped. They need room for their new coaster (not sharing any details). I'm sorry, I don't like creeping around a ride with a 155 foot drop, like Hercules.. if Mean Streak doesn't get the maintenance it needs, the axe must come down.

Disaster Transport would however be much better with the original theming. Wicked Twister is a great ride, one of my top 3 choices to ride at CP. The only problem with the ride, is that Intamin did not put enough strength into the supports. If they put a few more supports up, and/or strengthen the existing ones... The ride will be stable, reliable, and FUN!

TTD Rides: 17
TTD Rollbacks: 4 witnessed, 0 ridden

They need to get rid of those pesky seagulls! They are beautiful, but they pick the most awful places to do their busniess! I have got way too many close calls. They should also not allow gum in the park--the ground looks so bad! :P

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

I must be one of the few that thinks Mean Streak is awesome.
I agree with Gomez. I love Wicked Twister, and it's one of the last rides I would take down. The ride being next to the beach, actually on the sand, gives it a nice effect. Also, tearing it down wouldn't really add that much more room. Wicked Twister takes up the least amount of room out of the major coasters.

Yet, I would toss Mean Streak for another coaster, even if it wasn't a wood coaster. I like Gemini and Blue Streak way better than Mean Streak. So losing that ride wouldn't be a big deal to me.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

The only ride the could take out that i wouldn't blink about is Mantis.

Sorry to fans, I've just never cared for the ride. I know I'll get ragged on about it.

On top of everyone elses suggestions though, Wildcat HAS to stay, that is a great ride, and honestly I don't mind a DT ride once in a while. It was the first ride I ever rode at CP back when i was a coaster "virgin" so to speak. It all started with DT, so that's a stroll down memory lane.

Who says their going to take down a coaster or they need to take down a coaster. You can't take Mantis down b/c then there wouldn't be a stand up for about 200 miles.

You can't take down Twister b/c its too new, it be a waste of money and it is pretty good..from what i've heard.

Mean Streak or Blue Streak can't be takne down b/c there the only woodies in the park and 2 still isn't enough.

Gemini, magnum, millennium, top thrill and raptor can't be taken away b/c too many people be pissed off.

So, the only coasters that could be taken down are in order

1.Demon Drop (even though its not a coaster)

2.Gemini Jr.

3.Woodstock's Express

4.Disaster Transport

5.Iron Dragon

One easy solution to all our problems, Let CP decide to keep or remove it!

As for me, I want it to stay. It's great for first riders as many have said. In my family alone 16 people have had DT as their first coaster. I had Gemini though.

From everyone on the CP&LE, RIP Mayor Scott...~

DT & DD slightly possible.

The others? No way, in my opinion.

Idea!!!

Well, it would be a huge task, and it would cause parking chaos for a year or two, but it would really increase the land space. They could build a parking garage on one half of the main lot at the moment. They could make it many stories so it holds more than the entire lot currently holds (think of Universal Studios Orlando...they pack tons of cars into that huge garage. It saves them tons of space too.). They could then take the other side of the lot and expand the park a lot.

Just an idea. It would be pretty cool and it would allow tons more room for rides.

Increased parking =Increased Park Guests

Do you really want more people in the Park in July & August?
