Despite everyone who wants a 5000 foot tall 340 mph coaster, DT is great for kids who want something more grown-up than GJr and Woodstock but aren't ready for Raptor or MF or TTD.
From what I've read on here, everyone's favorite part of the light show is the fireworks, and being on whatever favorite ride when the fireworks go off. Well, why not do a fireworks only show. Yes it'll cost more than a lazer show, but it won't suck nearly as much. And it wouldn't have to last very long, even a 10 minute show would be worth it. Would it get boring to employees, probably, but for the guests who are there for their one trip a year it would be great. Besides that screen is an eyesore and it blocked one of the most beautiful rides in the park, the Giant Wheel, at least until the Wheel got moved for MF.
Anyway, enough ranting....back to work

Life is too short...go ride a coaster!!
1: Disaster Transport is one of the best rides at the park. Even better than CC Mine Ride in my opinion. And I have to give a LOT of respect to the crew to keeping such awesome intervals, it ain't easy! It may be cheesy, but it's one heck of a ride. I think I amazed Jamie from ESD by riding it about 10 times on ride night! I know I've ridden DT close to 500 times last season, more than any other ride!
2: Take out Wicked Twister? Okay, that's just insane. Awesome ride, and one that get's the kids or timid coaster riders ready for TTD. I don't see taking something out that isn't broken...
3: Take out WWL and lose the only water ride that children under 46" (someone correct me, but is Thunder Canyon 46 or 48??) can go on? You don't know how many times I would watch to see a small child come of with the biggest smile!
It seems that people, well OLDER posters, seem to want to rip out the smaller, tamer rides to put something in for themselves. Hey, I work at Cedar Point, a FAMILY park, or at least it was when I did my training last week.
If ANYTHING were to go anytime soon, my bets would be on the remainder of 'Tiques triangle. I'll miss hooking the Swucks (Hmm, people could NEVER tell if they were swans or ducks...), it was some good upper body exercise (not to mention screaming at people over the PA to sit down or stay out of the fountain!). I don't see them keeping Wave Swinger or the 'Tiques if they were to get rid of anything, which I doubt will happen anytime SOON.

Gomez said: The lights for TTD look great as they are. You can't see them really unless you're on the ride anyway.
Fat Chris said: I would have to agree with Gomez on his last paragraph, well said. I think the lights are TTD are spectacular. It's pretty neat to be 20 minutes from the park at night and be able to see Dragster all lit up from that far of a distance.
I must agree the TTD lights are extremely spectacular, and the tower looks great even when driving on route 2. I've even seen the tower, on 250 coming from Milan at night.
However, ever walk past Monster, and WW walking towards the front of the park, at night. If you look in the wrong direction mainly towards TTD, you will probably need sunglasses. Well, maybe they are not that bright.
Coming from a ride host point of view. From WW controls to the exit, we could just barely see the shadow of the person trying to clear the ride. I made several complaints to my supervisors last season about those lights. Most of which were agreed with.
My suggesstion for the lights were to attach them to the tower itself. Ala Power Tower. You would still get a Bright TTD Tower, maybe even brighter. The lights on the ground glosest to the tower can stay. As I mentioned before, CP is trying to light a tower not land an airplane.
So my suggestion, would allow othe people to not be blinded, secondly, it would create almos tthe exact same effect having the lights in parts of the tower pointed up.
You will still be able to see the tower from miles away. I don't think an idea like this will ever be done. I'm not going to lose sleep over it either, it's just an idea with concernes behind it, mainly at Witches' Wheel.
