"SFWoA Is Better Than Cedar Point"

You said many people...that's just one. I would bet that a majority have been to SFWoA that post here just because they are so close. And maybe to see if CP is up against any type of real threat business-wise.

That was a joke dude

From what I have seen CP has nothing to worry about at least right now busniess wise.I went there last season full of hope and wanting to have a great time and wanting to return. But alas that was not to be The employees were rude there was garabage all over the park and the sea life park had really gone downhill. Now I know SF:WOA is still new so I will give them that but what I saw with the employees there is no exscuse for that or all the garbage.I am willing however to give SF:WOA a second chance but that won't be for a few years.Untill then I sincerely wish they clean up their act(no pun intended) and I do think they can become the really great park they have to potential to become.Just like Cedar Point is now.And so ends my novel.

"Damn Your Eyes;Too Late."

Matt2003, that was a joke about the booty thing. LOL! ;)

Anyhoo, I just now saw the commercial, and I felt like slapping that crazy woman! LOL! ;)

-----------------

I saw that commerical last night, and I couldn't believe my ears. I bet SFWoA is heavily mad that CP built WT, but still a national company, like Six Flags, saying stuff like that. That's just obserd.

-----------------

I saw the Six Flags commercial again shortly after visiting the SF website, I think one of the people who is picture saying something about SF is the company president who lives in New York city. I can't tell though, he's not on long enough to tel for sure. I'm sure the guy has been to SFWOA, but is it effective advertising to pass him off as John Doe to talk about how great a park is in which he is paid to be biased to...... I guess they couldn't find enough people who liked the park. I'm not saying people know who he is and see him daily. I just happened to recognize a face from the SF website. I don't think it matters at all who people see as long as the message is clear. Except that lady. Someone real needs to go clear up her head and help her think straight...

"2Hostyl brought up the point that more Cedar Point fans buy SF passes than SF fans buying CP passes.

That's true, but I think there's a different way to look at that.
{SNIPPAGE}
The reason, then, that a lot of people buy SF passes is because, for one, they're much cheaper than the CP ones, and secondly, they're more flexible. Both chains allow admission to all of their sibling parks with one park's pass, but Six Flags has about three times the parks Cedar Fair does. I live in Illinois and bought a very overpriced ($82) SFGAm pass, not only for SFGAm, but for when I go to Ohio, or California, or wherever else I'm going to be.

You can look at it anyway you wish. But in the context of crashoverride (aka zero cool's :)) SF v. CP battle I would *think* that the only way you could determine a *winner* is by who is selling tickets/passes what have you. I merely contend that more CP fans "crossover" and buy SF passes than vice versa.

As to your second point, it seems to me then that you feel that Cedar Fair passes are terrible value. You admit that SF passes offer more than CF passes. And you claim that an SFGAm pass is "overpriced" at $82. Since a CP pass is $99, they must really be ripping people off in your opinion huh?

BTW: Aside from all of you so-called enthusiasts, I've never known people to visit amusement parks more than once *maybe* twice a year. And certainly not just on a spur of the moment.

You may not know people but with thousands of passes sold every year at various parks, I doubt they're all enthusiasts.

CP sells more tickets the SFWOA...bottom line.

I never got the chance to see the commercial yet. I've been in Kentucky all week for Spring Break. I did see an add for Kentucky Kingdom, however. The add said that they have, "seven legendary coasters." I don't really consider that kiddie coaster of theirs "legendary."

Cedar Point, the cure for the Summertime blues!

At work the other day I was doing some "deep thinking" about this ad and began to realize how self-defeating it is to SFWoA's cause. The ad it self is not all that bad and somewhat convincing until that broad says "...better than Cedar Point". That women cuts in near the end of the ad causing anyone with any knowledge of both parks and some common sense to think more of Cedar Point than SFWoA once the commercial is over. Just look at the two threads that all of us CP enthusiasts have going over this.

i agree 100%.. Cedar point is the best amusement park around..the biggest..the best.. the ultime favorite..nobody can top us.. admit it..six flags service sucks..and their rides aint to spiffy either..this is such of a big competetion but cedar point is the best and u six flags freaks will have to realize that..we cant be beat :)
I don't know if anyone has seen the "new" commercial, but Six Flags has changed up the ad. After she said "Six Flags Worlds of Adventure is better than Cedar Point" she's cut off. The newer commercial goes into better detail and she says that "SFWoA is better than Cedar Point because it's 3 parks in one". This changes everything in the ad. Now it doesn't make her sound like a complete idiot because it gives us her opinion and WHY she thinks the way she does. But, that is just my opinion on that.

And what an incredible coincidence that her reason is exactly the park's marketing slogan! Wow!

Jeff has a good point there.I myself have not seen either commercials but I do not care too I think that CP has too much tact and professionalism to saying anything negative about their competition. In their advertisements.

And if all of us here know that cp is better anyway, why do we care, right?:)

-----------------
OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...

We care because the GP (even though they have their own minds) can be easily swayed...I don't think it will be very effective though because of the absurdness of the statement though.

I haven't been to that park since it was Gueaga(sp?) Lake and I wasn't too impressed, however I will be going on May 11 and I actually can't wait. You really have to give them credit for what they've done to that park. 5 coasters in two years definitely beats out Magic Mountain and WoA got almost no recognition for it.I know everyone says Six Flags sucks but I'm really looking forward to my first ride on a flying, floorless, and impulse coaster!

Coming from someone who has been to SF:WOA.I had not too great an experiance.Their Impulse was broke all day,A majority of the employyees were rude and there was a lot of garbage lying all around on the ground,Not to mention the sea life park looked unkempt at best. They did not measure and did not properly ceck the lap bars which if I was on a flyer I would want my restrainits checked. Now i did hear they were improving this season but untill I hear anything I am not going to wast my time or money on that place. Now this is completley my opinion and experiance so if anyone is angered by this post do not take it as a bash on sf:woa becasue it is not.
SFWOA Ad's are ok But I think it is very unprofessional of them to BASH Cedar Point but after the commerical was off I thought More about Cedar Point. So it is a Two way thing that makes them seem very unprofessional, but will make people want to Goto Cedar Point to see if Six Flags's Claims that they are Better is True or not. That is when people will see that we don't have lot's of rides closed do to staffing problems and that we have people out helping us keep our Park Clean and that we the Cedar Point Staff both Fulltime and Seasonal do Care. Where is it you can meet the President and CEO Walking through the Park and Visiting with the Guest asking them how they feel about their Experencie at the Point. Wishing you all a Great Day At the World's Rockin Roller Coast CEDAR POINT Home To the most Coasters On the Planet
